Oh goodness.  I think I know that girl bottom second to the left.  As in, she's one of my LJ friends.  Haha.  And that guy bottom left with the lip length hair over his eyes has some serious split ends.

Applications / Koibito Play applictation

Hm, I'm fairly certain that a username can't have any spaces or capital letters.

I like your art.  I think it's pretty original, and I like your linework and the sort of minimalist use of color.  However, I'd really like to see an example of the website you would make here, so we could see your HTML skills.  There are plenty of free website hosts you can use for a practice run of the site you might have here, like freewebtown.com.

Good luck with your application!

Actually, a lot of description isn't really needed if you put up an example website that shows what you're planning to do.  Showing is always better than telling.  Hit up a site like freewebtown.com and put an example of the site you would like to have here up there; it will give you a much greater chance of being accepted.  Be sure not to use a site builder, though, since we don't have those here, and show off your HTML skills!

As to your content, well, I really like your art.  The colors in the pieces are wonderful.  Good luck with yor application, and don't forget to show us a mockup of your site!

Quote from: XepherIt's funny. Freshman year at college, they had an open house sort of deal where you could check out all the various clubs and stuff to join. I signed up for the anime club mailing list to get meeting/show times. Somehow though, in all 4 years of college, I never actually went to one. The funny part is that I'm STILL getting emails for their showings.
Oh my God, the exact same thing is ahppening to me.  Only my school's anime club's e-mails are like, "Hey guys.  Same place, same time," and I can never remember when or where it is.

Writing / NaNoWriMo 2005!

In November, you try to write an entire novel in 30 days (50,000 words, or 175 pages). Deadline is midnight, November 30th.  Think quantity, not quality.

...masturbation lessons?  puppets?

I'd do underwear on my head, simply because I wear clothes 10 years out of fashion anyway.  Yeah, that's right, I raid my mom's closet.  I am so cool.  Or maybe cheap.

Hurrah!

Gwyn:  I'm sure that's not true.  PEER PRESSURE DO IT.

Ashley:  Yay!  You win.  We can fail together.

Xepher:  Sounds intriguing.  I hope it get written, if not now, eventually.  And I can't tell you how much I appreciate your work for Xepher.net.  I know it's a huge committment.  Good luck with everything!

Lei:  Go for it!  And it can't be that long or diffucult to explain.  I mean, the entire Odyssey can be summarized to "Man pisses off god.  Has long journey home."

P.S.  Those of you who are participating, how are you going about it?  Just plunging straight in with only the vaguest ideas?  Do you have outlines?

Out of curiosity, who else is planning on participating in NaMoWriMo this year?  I must be nuts to be trying it.  Heh.

So, if you're doing it, do you think you'll make it?  (probably not)  What's your novel going to be about?  (pretentious lesbians)  Have you done it before? (no)  How did that go?

I'm excited.

Yay Harry Potter!  If I weren't ridiculously busy, I would totally beta for you.  Alas and alack!

Out of curiosity, what's it going to be about?

Your website comes up as a page not found error message.

If you're planning on making a manga, I would suggest getting at least a few pages done before you put up an application here.  As Xepher has said time and time again, plans really count for nothing.

The instructions specifically state that your username must have "Only lower case letters, numerals, and the hyphen/dash ( - ) character."  This means no spaces of capital letters.

Your Deviantart account has a nice amount of content, but it could do with a little more.

Announcements / Hacked! (Or "Why I Hate People")
October 04, 2005, 01:27:11 PM
Quote from: trekkie1701cHey, Xepher, I just had an idea for preventing someone who's managed to hack the site from doing much damage - is there anything you could write that would prevent a user from changing a large amount of files within a short period of time (giving them an error if they try to edit more files than one would normally be able to edit in a short period of time - like 20 files in a minute, or something).  It's just an idea, and I'm sure there's probably some reason why you can't do it (I'm not very familiar with everything that Linux/Unix can do, nor am I familiar with servers in general), just figured I should at least suggest it.
Ack, I regularly change/upload more than 20 files in one session, because I'm lazy and tend to update in clumps.

Art / Artrage
October 04, 2005, 07:00:58 AM
I just thought I'd share a new program my livejournal flist introduced me to, called Artrage.  It  does a really good job recreating the effects of natural oil paint media, which makes me very happy.  Not that I'd ever replace real painting with this, but it does soothe my lack of scanner-ness.

Here's my first attempt using it.  It's um, War.  From Good Omens.  The book that is slowly taking over my life.
