General Chat / Domain Name Hosting Advice

Expiration date June 3rd, 2007 and it doesn't look like it's been maintained.  Or else some larger group is parking their butts there and waiting.

But as long as we're drifting...Xepher, is it possible to have 2 domains point to two different subfolders here?

The Gus commercials are kind of spooky.  Or else groundhogs are really that ugly.  But he'd better be right because there's too much winter here.

Ehhh...it looks a little cluttered to me.  It also reminds me of my grandma's photo table...maybe adding frames around each of the pictures might set them apart and make it seem less disorderly?  I like the reflection effect.

"Furverts" cracks me up.  Sorry...the term just sounds funny when I say it.

I guess I don't think of wolves as smiling creatures.  The enigmatic cat's smile is far more publicized.

Ah, right...stupid me.  Although...to dig my pit a little deeper, I thought her logo was a cat....

General Chat / need help on rating my comic, please
January 25, 2007, 01:19:53 PM
I'm late on this, but what about Web-14+?  I mean, Sims has partial nudity, if pixelated sex is your thing, and it got away with a Teen 13+ rating.  You can even make them have an orgy and with the right hacks, they can have as much anatomical detail as Ken and Barbie.  Okay, that's me being silly, but do you see what I mean?  I think the MA rating is unnecessary for your comic, as everyone else fits under the PG-13 rating with the exception of partial nudity.

Maybe some kind of cat themed background?  Minimalist to fit with the rest, but just something to make it pop.

General Chat / how to deal...
January 25, 2007, 01:06:46 PM
Sometimes, we have to be friends with people we normally wouldn't be friends with.  What do you value more - telling her she's a bitch, even though it won't do you any good, or having a place to crash at when you need to get away from home?  That'll be your answer on how to deal with this person.

Aside from all the other comments, I just have one thing to add...maybe, when you show the thumbnails, a description/reason for the design?  I've seen it used on other portfolio sites.  Sometimes, I think a design is not so good, but after reading why, things make more sense.  This is particularly if you don't want to give a link to the real site.  (if this makes any sense)

Quote from: ren_piiYes, you'll probably all groan and say "it's another anime art site." Well, yes... 80% of it is... for now. Believe it or not... I'm in the phase of "exploring new art styles". I have a few realism pieces, although I'm still kinda trying it out. I'd post traditional artwork/sketches if I still had a camera.

That's pretty cool.  How many of those original users are still active though?  I recognize willsan and fort ruddler, but no one else. :(

Wow, that's so old school.  But everyone has to start somewhere.  My first websites were on Geocities and they were AWFUL.  I'm so glad archive.org doesn't have them.  I embraced frames.  x.x

My username is so generic, but my site ends up being listed right under the Wikipedia entry.

Fesworks, how old is your domain name?  When I bought mine, Google still had the xepher.net version listed before the domain for a while.

Just to demonstrate the "there's always an exception," I'm an asian female tomboy who sucks at math.  I can do enough for every day tasks, but I am never going to be able to do more than that.  x.x

While I was taking the BBC test, I wondered if it was more of a generational thing.  But that might be because after being at home with the parents for more than a few days, the generational differences are extremely clear.

I took the BBC test and wound up 50/50.  I did get perfect on the block rotations though, which made me happy because back when I thought I wanted to be an architect, I liked to rotate the building designs in my head.  But yeah, the idea that women use more words than men per day...I dunno.  Maybe I just hear a lot of dumb people because with the conversations riddled with "like" surely don't produce a ton of extra words.  And I do fairly well on reading emotions...I got one or two of the eyes one wrong.

For the Gender Genie, I cut and past some stuff from my website and wound up a male.  Not quite sure why "the" turns up as a masculine word.
