Site Description:
Moonless Phases is the name of my site. It is an Inu Yasha site. I got "Moonless Phases" from Inu Yasha actually. First of all, I started picking around on Freewebs.com in 2001, and back then my site was called "Inu Yasha Luvers." Yeah, don't laugh. My first name for a website, and I tried. :) Anyways, well after I started picking up HTML, it became "Two Hearts." I just got that from Inu Yasha and Kagome together. Well, after knowing HTML very well in late 2003, I moved to Kylosa.com (It doesn't exist anymore. Hence, why I came here.). By this time it was on a new webhost (talking about Kylosa.) and so I thought it was time for a new name. I was trying to think of some names while I was watching an Inu Yasha episode on TV. It was an episode where he was changing from his half demon form to his human form. Well, he only changes to human when there's a new moon. By the next morning, he's half demon again. So at first I was thinking "Wow...Moon Changes" would be a good title. But then I thought about it, and the title wasn't even close to being 'correct' in the sense of Inu Yasha at all. He only changes on a new moon. Well, a new moon is when the moon isn't visible. So I changed it to "Moonless Changes." Well, that didn't really strike my interest, so I looked in the Thesaurus for synonyms for "changes" and I got "phase." And so behold, "Moonless Phases"!

Now, you heard me talking about Kylosa.com. It was my host until it's servers went down. My website was very good -to me- and everything, so I was upset when I keyed in www.Kylosa.com to see that it's not there. (Click the link and you'll see what I mean.) So, just recently -as in a few days ago- I emailed the owner of the gone Kylosa.com and asked if it'd ever return. He replied with a no. And man, was I upset. And this is the reason I came here. I did browsing, and someone recommended your site when I was asking around for great webhosts on an RP forum called Gaia Online. So I checked your site out, and I love the amount of space you allow, and the other things you allow here as well.

Moonless Phases, as you know, is my Inu Yasha site. You might be thinking, "Well if her webhost Kylosa went down, why is she using 'is' and not 'was'" Well, my site and all of the files for my site were uploaded on Kylosa. When its servers went down, all of my pages and everything were gone. Just like that. Well, I remade my site on Dreamweaver 8, and so now I'm looking for a good host, hence why I am here right now applying.

My site contains a wide variety of things, such as: an English to Japanese dictionary, GIFs, episode screencaps, a very full image gallery (The images are on one of my Photobucket accounts. The link to it is on the site. The images are not on Moonless Phases itself.), sprites, fanart, character biographies, a complete episode list, a complete movie list, a complete game list, a complete voice actor list, MIDI files that are copyrighted by me from my own Inu Yasha CDs that I uploaded on my computer, awards that other sites can apply to win, and I also offer to review other sites as well. They just apply. That is all -for now- that is available for the visitors. There are also a few other things in the navigation bar that are mainly for feedback purposes. These "few other things" are as follows: Moonless Phases' affiliates, Moonless Phases' siblings, a page with all ways of contacting me for any questions or concerns, a page telling of my website experience, a guestbook, a page for a tagboard, ways to link Moonless Phases, all of the awards Moonless Phases has received, Moonless Phases' credits, reviews Moonless Phases has gotten from other sites, a page containing all of the past layouts of Moonless Phases, a page with a poll -that changes- for fun, and last but not least, a "Terms of Usage" page for all of the multimedia.

You saw that I have a page with my website experience. I have had experience as a 'webmaster' since 2001. Of course getting better as the years have gone by. I have taken Web Page Design 1 & 2 this past year. Before that I -without a doubt- took Keyboarding and Computer Applications. This August, the 10th to be precise, I will be returning to school, taking Graphic Design 1 & 2, seeing as I didn't have room for it when I was taking Web Page Design 1 & 2 in my schedule at school. I am going to be -in August- a Junior in High School. So, needless to say, I know HTML very well. I also know PHP. It is easier, in some ways, than PHP, but yes, I do know both HTML and PHP. I also know BBcode from Gaia Online, the RP forum I'm a member of. I'm currently working on learning more CSS.

Although I have not taken Graphic Design 1 & 2 in school -which I will be taking this coming August- does not mean I do not know about graphic design. At first, I used the good 'ole ghetto (haha) Paint. Now I have Adobe Photoshop CS2. I've had it and Dreamweaver 8 since Christmas. I know how to use both very well although I haven't had them an incredibly long time, because a course in school I took was called Technology Applications and it was a 4 hour long class. We traveled from school to the vocational center, where the course is. (It only took 20-25 minutes to get there.) We learned about Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver there. My favorite class, by the way. x). If you would like to see some of my Photoshop work for any reason, just let me know.

I'm sorry to say that I don't have a URL to my current website, seeing as Kylosa.com went down. For some reason if you'd like to check, feel free to email the owner, Kevin, and ask. (kale@kylosa.com) So I really can't do anything about this situation until I find a place that would be willing to host my website, such as this very nice place. But I can gladly show you my website's layout and -if you like- I can also post the link to Moonless Phases' image gallery on here. Which, as I said, all of the pictures are on one of my Photobucket accounts. I can also show you some of my graphic work, if you'd like to see it. I'm really sorry that I do not have a URL. Moonless Phases, at the moment, is sitting in Dreamweaver, wanting to be hosted.
------------------------------------------------------

That is basically all about Moonless Phases, and I also added information about me and my experiences in there. If you need to know more information or if you have questions or if your confused, just let me know and I'll answer you as soon as possible. Sorry if it's a bit long. x) I just wanted to get everything in. Enjoy reading! I must go now, but I'll be back later to check for any replies. I might also change/add things, but I'll be sure to add an "EDIT:" in there somewhere so you'll know that it wasn't there the first time.

Have a good day!

Ahh, so that's what happened to Kylosa.  I was wondering.  Anyway, it sounds like a typical anime fansite and I think that you'd actually be better suited to a host that focused on anime sites/blogs/graphic sites, etc.  There are tons of them out there.

Ah, yes I thought about that but I cannot find one that "strikes my interest."
I could use the amount of space Xepher offers.
And I like the owner's personality.
Seems like a really cool person.

After Kylosa crashed, there was kind of a community scramble to take in Kylosa sites.  I have no doubt that you can get hosted by an anime-themed host after explaning your site's history.  I'm only promoting this because Xepher does not take in many anime sites, especially after the implementation of Phase 2.

Yes, I know there are other anime themed ones, but I don't really like any other anime so I'm trying to stay away from those types for now. But if I get rejected, I will have no choice but to go to an anime themed one. I just hope I get accepted, because I really don't want to be hosted by an anime themed host...

FushigiRei

I think I edited out the typos in my application.
:)
Exuse ones I left over. Hehe.

FushigiRei

If you like, I could post some screencaps of my layout and how it looks on dreamweaver.

Munerift

Well you could post screencaps, but your site is indeed anime themed correct? Do you draw any of the artwork yourself?

Your application says alot but I see _nothing_ that you've produced. I feel bad that your webhost crashed, but then that means you do what it takes to have it up and running on another server as long as you care for it enough.

If you answered yes to my first question at the top; I can pretty much give you a 99% guarentee that your site isnt the pick for Xepher's hosting.

Yes, it's anime themed. And yes, I also do some of the artwork myself. There is a "fanart" page where I have my artwork, and other people can submit their's.

Generally speaking, I don't do "fan sites." I am looking for, and I quote, "Original, creative content." And, going by your description (since you have no actual site to look at) that you definitely fall under "fan site." If you'd like to prove me wrong or debate that point, then you should show some of your actual content here and we'll see.

FushigiRei

Well, I believe it's sort of split in half. It's like half fan site, half of my own creation(s)/work. I will show a screencap of my navigation bar if that would help, and try getting screencaps of some of the pages here as well, as soon as possible.

Munerift

Or can you temporarily host it on a free site for us to see it in working order in it's entirty, like using http://atspace.com  ..?

Hm, I will definately look into that. Thanks!

FushigiRei

Alright, I have decided to put it back on Freewebs for the time being, since I know how it works. I admit, I haven't gotten all of the links working, and there are pages where the text and/or links have not showed up yet. That is simply because I needed somewhere to put my site and so I wanted to wait to fix them until I found a host, so excuse any obvious flaws you see for now. But just by going to the home page and the Broken Link page, you can kind of see how it works. Most of the other pages have problems with text or links being black, which I will fix in time.

Here's the link:

Personally, I think it's half fan site and half informative information site, if that makes any sense. I don't think it's a complete fansite, because I don't have a 'get married to a character' section which I've seen actual Inu Yasha fansites have, or a section where you can play games or anything. I've been to Inu Yasha fansites in the past to get ideas of some things I could add to Moonless Phases, but I found nothing because all of it was stuff the visitors could 'take away' in a sense. Such as the 'marry a character' or games where you pet and feed Inu Yasha. I don't think Moonless Phases has anything for the viewers except information, really.

I think my site is more on the informative side, in the sense that I have pages that contain things such as character biographies, a complete list of the voice actors, a complete list of the episodes, a complete list of the Inu Yasha games, a complete list of Inu Yasha movies, and things like that.
