My friend Diana of The Intrepid Girlbot sent me here after I told her I'd like to switch hosting from Comicgenesis. My comic has been running on and off since 2004 (!) and can be found at http://www.green-avenger.com. At the moment the site is not terrifically complicated, and I plan on putting up a simple comicspress blog when I get hosting. I've never been too good at coding, but I think my art and writing is all right. Hope what's up on the site is enough to get a good taste of what it would be like! Thanks for your consideration.
Hey, not to shabby... looks like you gotta a decent track record of maintaining some semi-regular updates. The art has definitely improved over the course of the comic, and looks pretty good now. The site design... eh, as you said, nothing special, but it's functional, and lets us see the comic. Leaning towards a yes here.
Wow! Thanks for your quick response! Yeah, I have an OK track record... I've made about one update every 8 days over the lifetime of the comic on average... I took a two year hiatus due to a long-term family emergency, which is part of the reason the site design is so bad, but I'd like to finish it within the next year or so. I'm also planning on launching another comic next year and if all goes well with this, I was hoping to possibly be able to apply for hosting for that as well. But let's not get ahead of ourselves!
Do you have any questions or anything that could help me push you over the edge?
Nice! I have a question - if you get a Xepher account, will you put up things like character bio/drawing pages, random art sketches, etc? I know a lot of other comic writers have these things on their sites and I feel that it adds more to the characters/world they've created.
Absolutely. I had those up on my page before I took my hiatus, but I took them down when I realized that they were very outdated and some of the pages didn't really work the way they were meant to because of my inability to do real site design. I do have a lot of fanart and plan on putting up character profiles and design sketches and whatnot. I think it'll be easier on a comicspress site for me to do that.
Looked into this comic too, actually I read it from first page to last. :P
Not bad, not bad at all!
Alright, I think this one's a go. Just gimme a day or two to get things set up. I just got back from the most hectic of 5 day weekends. :-P
Alrighty... you're in. You should have an email with instructions.
Haha! Oh wow, Hey Abby! Welcome! :P
I was reading your comic before you took that hiatus, nice to see it updating again. And on Xepher.net
