Alrighty, for those of you who haven't heard of eye candy 69 and smut 69, they are prompt sites for fan art and and fanfic, respectively.

I want me some fanart of my totally whacked-out HP ship, Tonks and Hagrid.  I am willing to exchange for fanfic of the pairing of your choice.

While I completely understand that most of you can probably write your own fanfics, I cannot draw stick people to save my life.  So I'm selling it like this.  Mutal exchange of happies, each person gets 69 presents of creative just for them, and the creator gets someone that enjoys what they have created.

Any takers?

Misc. Content / The Hero of Canton

The man they call Jayne!

So, there has been a huge movement in knitting of geek girls like me.  There is a huge uprising in fandom knitting.  While I cannot contribute to the world of fan art and I think I might be the only person in the world that finds my writing interesting, I can totally create knitted objects to show my worship.

With no further ado (Ok, maybe a little ado, but you know how cats are when you've just cleaned the kitty box.  They've just gotta do a little adoing.)

Check me out, I'm the box-dropping man ape thing.

and I also made "playne Jayne" slippers.  I wear them while I watch Firefly.

Anyone else that knits, the pattern is free and I'll give you the link if you want.  Anyone that doesn't knit buts wants something fandom knit, let me know and we can see what we can work out.

So, this is me creating, but it's in the textile format.  If everyone thinks me a silly goose, I will remove/ allow Xepher to destroy

Sorry if the photos are too huge.

This is a devil hat for my little bro.  His mom (my step-mom) requested the adult version...so I've got one of those too.

oh, and an edit....pic of me.

lets see if those there images work.

Edit, fixed at least one link.

General Chat / Rant on the sucketh with me.

Alright, I'm not even into XBox, and anyone who knows me knows I can't afford one even if I want one.  But this whole shortage of systems is the major suck.  I worked a midnight release party tonight, and a kid left crying because he couldn't get one, even though he had reserved it back in August.  Let us all take a moment to send hate-rays towards Redmond.

General Chat / would you rather?
October 19, 2005, 12:26:22 AM
So, I've started a new journaling idea with my students, and thought it would be fun here as well.  Feel free to post your answers and your own 'rathers.'

Would you rather wear clothes that are 10 years out of fashion or your underwear on your head?

Note, if any of you post really good ones, I'd like permission to use them in my classroom.  :)

Knowhow Trading Post / beta readers

I'm looking for betas for my first fanfic.  If you like Harry Potter and have some time to read a potentially long story, post to here and I'll get a mass (or not so mass) email out to those of you interested with more details.

General Chat / Found on the Media Wise site

Thought this would be good for a laugh.

http://www.mediafamily.org/mediawise/video_game_addiction_self_survey.shtml

"How addicted are you?"

Now, I'm not saying people can't become addicted to video games.  Human beings can become addicted to anything that stimulates their limbic system.  But I think that if you're actually checking a few of those, you're an imaginary person, because if you're that addicted, you're not checking a website to find out.

And I only wish I had twenty hours a week to play my PS2.

Knowhow Trading Post / Computer Challenge!
October 08, 2005, 05:46:26 AM
Alright, I'm paying back a favor for a guy who helped me get a sweet job earlier this summer.  He got a computer and it shat out on him, and he needs an answer!  So, I told him what i think is wrong, and I also told him I'd post the issue here so all of you who are smarter than me can take a crack at it.  Remember, all answers must be in language that you would use to explain computers to your parents, because he's of that generation and I'm going to be showing him verbatims.  :)  Who likes a challenge?

Seriously, thought, I would really appreciate the help.  He's a really nice guy and it's a brand new freaking computer.

When booted up, the computer tells him that it has had a fatal error, and that Windows cannot start because te registry could not be updated.  The error is located in C: Windows setuperror.log

It also spits out this number/code thingy:  3DFEAIDF

I told him that I believe the OS didn't install properly, and that he needs to slate and reinstall Windows XP.  Am I right?  I'm perfectly willing to accept a no for that....Please Help!

I posted it here cuz I thought it was funny, but if Xepher wants to take it away, I totally understand.

ADMIN: Moved to General Chat

So, I've had a long day student teaching, and decide to treat myself.  Well, I'll pretend to treat myself as there is no proper liquor store in this two-bit town.  I decide I will have a glass (or two) of Boone's farm.  And I am civilized now, so I will get an actual glass versus the old college method of swigging straight from the bottle.  I open the cupboard and there it is.  My brother's Veggie Tales cup that he stole from me.  I couldn't help myself.  I had to do it.  The French Peas told me too.

So, I was wondering.  What's the silliest similar thing everyone here has done?  It doens't have to involve alcohol, as I know not all of us are of age, but I'm just curious.  Meanwhile, the French Peas and I will go back to our pretend Blue Hawaiian.

Knowhow Trading Post / Apartments in Seattle
August 28, 2005, 02:43:40 AM
So, this is my first post, and as luck would have it, is rather mundane and boring.  But this is the know how section, so this seemed like a good place to post...

Does anyone know about how much I can expect to pay for a 2 bedroom in the Fremont area of Seattle?  You know, the section of Seattle with the Troll and the InterUrban....

If not, is cool.
