I've been part of DeviantArt for a few years (my current account only says one though, cause I switched it) and to be honest, I've never felt the community that everyone's talking about.  Comments and friending others are nice, but as for the DeviantArt forums...well...they're just a disaster in the works.  

Though my roommate, I've heard bits and pieces about what's been going on at DeviantArt.  I dislike what they did because I don't think they're large enough for that kind of corporate backstabbery (who do they think they are - Walmart?) and I also dislike their money-grabbing mindset.  However, I realize that they need to make money, as image hosting eats up a lot of bandwidth.  Those kinds of policies are required, if paid memberships cannot sustain it.  I kind of wish I could poke them and tell them that their own site probably eat up a lot of  bandwidth as well and they should think about reforming that too.  >.>

And Xepher, I think your plan sounds great.  I really like the invite system (although I feel that gmail has been abused and that LiveJournal never should have gotten rid of theirs).  I realize that my idea is perhaps not so democratic, but maybe people with higher community standings could get more invites?  I don't aspire to this ability, but I'd much rather have someone with high standing (and a better eye for art, hopefully) having more opportunities to invite talent.  

Anyway, if you're wondering about support - I know two of my artists friends were excited to hear about your Phase 3 concept when I told them about it, because they're fed up with megasites like DA, Yerf, and Elfwood.  I realize it's only two people, but still...better some than none. ^_^

Welcome to the forums!  I can read your font just fine...and SilentFyre...I'm not seeing you in cobalt.  I'm on a laptop though, so I don't know if that would affect things.

I like the Barenaked Ladies, Bowling for Soup, Enya, KOTOKO, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Ruppina, and Siam Shade.  I'd have to say that those are my all time favorites.

Welcome to the both of you  Given that these are new forums, there isn't a lot of insanity going on.  Yet.  Maybe.  Should I be paranoid?  And why am I talking to myself?

Wow...the most I've said is, "Whatcha wanna kill?" from the orcs in Warcraft II, but it was jokingly.  My friends and I sometimes classify ourselves according to the Final Fantasy classes....  And sometimes, when I'm trying to convince someone to do something with the group, I tell them that it's, "Fun +2".  But it's all in conscious joke...I think.

Oh, wow, I had no idea I could do that.  Thanks, Xepher!  I hope I can figure out how to get something like that working. ^^;

I was wondering what you guys used for stats tracking, if anything at all.  I know that Xepher has provided us with one, but I sometimes forget to grab the monthly stats at the end of the month.  By the time I remember (usually a couple days afterwards), it has been reset.  So I was wondering if you all had some kind of external service you used and that you would recommend.

That's good to know, Xepher!  I've avoided EQ for the same reasons (my friends who are/were obsessed with it had similar thoughts), as well as that new Final Fantasy game.

I'd probably love the game, because I liked all the previous incarnations of Warcraft, but I'm on dial up and I'm poor.  Someday, maybe, just to try.  The problem is that I'm not a huge fan of playing against anonymous strangers.  Anonymous, potentially rude and idiotic strangers.  I'd rather stick to getting beaten by my friends or my computer.  x.x
