Announcements / Re: Automated Email Rules

I found a plugin for Wordpress that uses SMTP with the option of authentication, which I checked.  I'd like to use it to process a form on my contact page, rather than having my address out there in the open.  This is the only place I'd use it, as far as I can tell.  Do you foresee this being a problem?  Or would it be advisable for me to just stick with the alias I have set up?

I see what you mean and I think it's a bug in the overall script because the demo on the creator's site also breaks in Safari.  I'd either contact him and see if he can fix the problem.  Or go to the original source (http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/) and use his...his demo seems to work in Safari.

Everything works fine with mine.  I'm using Firefox 2.0 on Mac OSX.

The pessimist in me says highly expensive worm food but the optimist says that we're meant to demonstrate to whoever's watching that we're not incompetent fools.

We're still working on that.

I think they do the basics decently. ^_^

I like Dreamweaver but it's just one of many options.  I find it saves me time and typing over Notepad but I don't rely entirely on the WYSIWYG editor.  It's just an easy starting point and then you can go into the code and clean things up there.

WordPress is nice but if you're looking to make templates and web design offerings, it's really bulky, IMHO.

Beautiful artwork!  Your attention to detail is awesome.  This novel that you're working on...I'm assuming this is one you're writing for publication?  Or is this a fan-fiction or original fiction to be published online?

Hosting Q&A / Re: Delete banners?

Thanks!  I'll get some new ones up...some time.  It's the season of goodbye, welcome, end of the work year, vacation time parties and other events that eat up after work time.  Probably next week at some point is when I start to get my evening hours back again.

Hosting Q&A / Delete banners?
March 25, 2008, 01:47:10 AM
Hey, Xepher, I was just wondering if it would be possible to add a "Delete banners" button/link to the banner management page.  (I'm still participating in the banner exchange!)  Mine are old and I haven't had the time to make new ones yet.  Would this be possible or would it throw off the banner system?

I love caramelldansen!  I should drag out my icon but I won't inflict that on people.

I'll ask the question I ask most people with only DA accounts...are you looking to simply create a mirror of your DA account in website form or will there be unique content only on your website?  In other words, why is having a website in addition to your DA account beneficial?

With that asked, I like your artwork.  Especially the Hiro one. x.x

I'll have to agree with Ticky on every single point he said.  I realize that people have to start somewhere and that not everyone takes to graphic design instantly (or in my case, not at all), but I think the service you've got now works just fine for what you're offering.

Technology is what enables me to work in a foreign country and keep my relationship intact.  I have it so much easier than my mom and dad did.  I also think technology is good, except when it distracts me from what needs to be done.  But that's my fault. :(

I downloaded it just fine now - same speed and same time but the file comes out complete.  No idea why I could download an mp3 from my site with about the same speed/size...maybe it was 4:59 and I just got lucky. ^_^

I downloaded #13 (the newest one).  I use Firefox 2.0, hovered around 50k/s +/- 10 (although it got to 83k/s at one point), and only received about half the file (29:14 minutes worth or 16.7MB to be exact).  Time was about 5 minutes.

One thing I noticed in my little download window is that the blue progress bar was halfway across the screen.  I turned to answer an IM (I only had Adium running) and when I clicked back, it said the file was finished.

I don't know if this would help, but for test purposes, I uploaded a podcast about the same length/size of Fes' (made by someone else, but deleted so no infringement!).  It downloaded just fine - speed was about the same but I wasn't monitoring it closely...I was more concerned about completion.  I don't know anything about podcasting but does this mean it's not a filetype problem?

Not blog_id....in your database, click on wp_options, then browse, then look for siteurl (should be the 1st row).  Click edit and see if it matches your url/newfolder name?  (this will display in the option_value column)
