Very Excellent :D

Thanks!

I have 10 domain names bought from GoDaddy... since I'm just using the domain names, and no other service, I should never run into any real problem... I'm hosted on Xepher.net, so if something happens, I just blame Xepher. ;)

I use Go Stats

not sure about accuracy, but I put the code on every single page. (well, I have my site wordpressed, so that part is easy now)

My Project Wonderful numbers are HUGE compared to my Google Analytics numbers, so I would like a third "opinion" on how many people are actually hitting my site.

Everytime I cry at certain movies, I get rediculed... by women ... :/

Well, and by men too, but I don;t care what they think. Ash getting killed was sad :(

Needless to say, Jenny Everywhere and PSI would be taking their forums here. Jason and I are going to see if the Ardra readers would mind to go over here too.

Compared to our forums (because I don;t know what I'm doing), These Xepher ones have us totally beat... I mean, you have attachments, real posting options ("Bold" and "Add Link" stuff), and Private Messaging!

Directed at Xepher himself:

I've been thinking about my forums recently... Some webcomic communities ... well, many communities actually, have unified forums for webcomics "under their belt".... I was wondering if you might be interested in setting up a Xepher Community Webcomic Forum Collection. One login for multiple sites is always a better option and more appealing to potential forumites. You'd be in control of the boards to know that crap would not be going down with e-mails or such. You could assign us as Moderators to our specific forums...

In any case, I'm not sure of your opinion on this. I've just been considering trying to move my forums to somewhere else with a better forum model, and more chance to get people on board etc.

I'm also curious to know what other people think... I know some people like individualized forums, but if can get normalized forums in one place, we don;t need to worry about upkeep of the code and such, plus, again, when people don't need to make multiple logins for several different sites, the chances for crossover and increased posting... um...well, increases.

The only thing I could think that might be desirable in addition to centralized forums might be customizable/additional smilies...

Thoughts?

It's nice.  Did you have to edit the cursor though - it's annoying!

I don't get the fascination with the cross-hair cursor...

It's when you get several domain names, and you want to redirect them to a bunch of different directories... is when you can run into troubles... especially if you are running ComicPress :P

If you are using WinSCP, then go to COMMANDS > OPEN TERMINAL (also CTRL+T)... it has a little icon that looks like a mini DOS window with "NOM" or something in it.

Using this and the full path (/usr/local/bin/generate-web-statistics) worked for me... I mean, it seemed like it froze, but it said it would be several minutes....

My thing didn't have Putty.exe to run Putty... I think you told me to download it before, but that was on my old computer.

Speaking of which, I may want you, and perhaps a couple of your voice actors, to come on The Webcomic Beacon podcast some time. Could be an interesting topic... voicing webcomics. E-mail me at webcomicbeacon@gmail.com if you want to discuss this further and such :)
How would that work, out of interest?  I mean, from a technical viewpoint?  Would it be done in advance as a recorded segment, or would it be a live thing?

LIVE!

We use Skype (Skype.com). A voice chat and phone service. Skype to Skype is free, but Skype to Phone costs a nominal rate per minute, or used via monthly subscription. (We can call phones or call Skypes for the show). We record the shows using a piggyback program on Skype, and we also broadcast the recording live on Talkshoe (free podcast service, where quality is a bit lower, but that's just for the live listening audience). I better, edit, and cleaned up version is later released as an MP3 on our main website, and the Talkshoe show is taken down.

Side note: The Webcomic Beacon used to be hosted on Xepher, but we moved. (I think it for the best because we did suck a lot of bandwidth from Xepher :P) Though all my other projects are still on Xepher :D

Oh, and if anyone is curious, overall server stats are at http://xepher.net/stats/xepher-net/

The first referring site is just ... odd... anonib.com ? huh?

As usual, DMFA is a big search topic.

Hey, you're the guy that was coordinating the "DMFA Radio" thing right? where you have people basically voicing the strips?

Heh, that's correct.  I was wondering if you'd recognise me :P
Progress on the Radio Project has been a bit slow lately and it's not helped by the fact that the current project is also the currently ongoing arc, but that project is still live.  It wasn't my intention to bring that across too, but it's an interesting idea.

If so, would you also be bring that over to the Xepher account too? In any case, I guess I keep forgetting about it. I'm too scatterbrained to keep up on the DMFA forums so I essentially stopped going, though I liked it... But I believe you are the guy that was doing that.
