Red hair!

What's that sandy stuff?  Sand?  Pollen?  Fungus?

That's mah friend in the red hair: http://jinxville.com (oh yea, she's hosted here too :P )

And yes, the sandy stuff is sand ;) It's from that wall which is sandstone. a flood the previous year and wiped out a ton of the trees and shrubs along the river. last time I went, THIS was covered up by trees and shrubs:

It was a pretty nasty flood as I am told.

I think you're not looking for an image viewing program (that would be something you browse pictures on your own computer with... e.g. Microsoft Image Viewer) What you want is a web image gallery script(s.) One popular one is simply called "Gallery" and is used by several xepher.net members. http://gallery.menalto.com/ It let's you directly upload images, and automatically creates thumbnails for them, as well as let's people comment and other things. Other people tend to write their own pages, such as the page you linked. It's just a standard table setup to use lightbox to overlay the full image when you click. You'd need to have a decent grasp of web coding to use the latter option though... at least basic knowledge of CSS.

I'm trying to use "Gallery", and I am running the installation, but when I get to the Database section, I run into issues. this is the screen:
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/fesworks/UPLOAD-71.jpg

this is all being placed into directory: http://fesworks.xepher.net/pictures/gallery2/

I'm certain my password is right. It what I used to log into  https://xepher.net/phpMyAdmin/

If I change the top setting (asking for what version it is) I get:

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/fesworks/UPLOAD-72.jpg

(other selections are non MySQL)

I'm going to guess that if you can't take one quick look at this and figure out what I'm doing wrong, then I'm guessing the answer is that "Gallery" doesn't work with Arclight as is. Then I'll just try another gallery program mentioned here.

I also use Dreamweaver, pretty much like Xepher said.  You can do html and css via WYSIWYG but it's so much easier (and faster) to type it out yourself.

You over estimate my remembering abilities ;) I don;t even fully know HTML, asside from the basics... and even then it's, apparently, outdated stuff like the "to the point, and specifically what I need, and shorter to type < b> tag" instead of stupid "< strong>"... peh.. also, I think I heard that "< center>" is also not obsolete.... I use that bastard ALL the time. Next thing you know, "< br>" will be gone or something :/

ANYway, this is all good information, thanks! I'll look these over as I can!

I should really learn some CSS coding for my web pages... I kinda got shunned a couple episodes ago on The Webcomic Beacon for all the tables I use... also for not using "strong" tags instead of the "b" bold tags... I also use Frontpage Express....

Can anyone recommend a new webpage creation program that doesn't feel intimidating? Oh, and also could simulate PHP and CSS server script running? ... or however that stufff works so you can work on it without being online, and uploading and checking on your site if it looks right?

I tried using DreamWeaver before... I got so lost in it. I like the simplicity of Frontpage.... Though I'm sure my code is redundant, bulky, and looks like crap.

Also, I think there are CSS code sites out there... I think I was told a couple of them a while ago, but I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations.

Partly off-topic,... actually, I'll start a new thread elsewhere.

EDIT: Oh crap... you are right! It DOESN'T work!

Mine is within tables, so the table/cell is aligning it.. not < p align> nor < center>

Is there a javascript aligning code? Maybe that would work.

Looks like a promising application :) Positive from me as well :)

help stop people from hot-linking, but also allow certain sites to hotlink!
