Applications / Kremling Temple
May 27, 2006, 05:31:58 AM
also, you can't have capital letters in a URL, silly :P you also didn't address the rest of the things that are required in your application, you just yelled excuses at me. There are no excuses, there is only what you did do, and what you didn't do. You didn't write a good application, and you didn't fix it. I agree with griever, I'd be voting "no" here too.

God not another one.....

*hokay* First off, you apparently haven't even read the guildlines, or you would've known that you need:

1. A potential username that will be used as your URL (kremling.xepher.net for example)
2. an email address that you can be contacted at (this is mostly a formality, but it's a good way to check who's read the instructions or not)
3. A link to a temporary site to show off your "mad" HTML and artistic skills. (no, deviantART does not count as a site that showcases HTML skills, you've gotta know what makes a website to get one here.)
4. A longer summary of your ideas and goals for your potential web space. (three sentences ain't gonna cut it, honey bee.)

until you get at least some of this up here, you haven't got a snowball's chance. No offence.

Applications / Fighting Dreamers, Online manga

He does, you didn't understand what I said. He has stated numerous times that prefers comics that ALREADY exist, not plans for them, as in, what you are proposing: you're applying for a PLAN to make a comic, not a tangible visual stimulation in comic page form that already exists on the internet. Or something like that.

QuoteI would greatly get a website especially for my upcoming online manga
Sorry, but last I checked, Xepher was more interested in comics that were already ongoing and had a decent archive. :

Art-wise, you're good. REALLY good. Your website layout is pretty good, too. (although, misspelling your own URL, that's not as good ;)) If you were here for an ART site, or a site for your other comic, you'd be a shoe-in. However, with what you are applying for, you haven't got much but a few empty promises and a vague outline (with some bad grammar, no offence) that sounds like just another generic anime plot.

I'm not saying you have no chance of getting in, I'm just saying....don't get your hopes too far up.

Well, one thing I'm wondering is, will this be an optional package? From your description it sounds like it'll be a part of EVERY xepher site to create a community feeling. That's good and all, but I'm perfectly happy doing things the hard way, really. Plus I get enough of deviantART-ish stuff from, well, deviantART. Sure lots of people are jumping on the "insta-art" bandwagon, but I like having a sense that I control my own website as completely as possible, and for me that only comes through lots of my own badly-written HTML and manual uploads of all my stuff. Not just the way it looks, (which according to you would still be enitrely flexible by way of smarty) but the way I MAKE it look like that. It's that extra few hours of coding and trial and error that says to me, "this is MY website. My little baby." Yes, okay, I have weird possessive issues, but that's not the point.

Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome idea, and a great way to create a stronger sense of community here, but I like having my own little bubble of webspace to fall back on.

Anyway, there's my two cents.

Quote from: dkgalaxyDon't call me stuipid! My parents said I could have a web-site and I wanted to use   xepher.net I'm 10 years old for Pete's Sake!
Oh, wow, 10 huh? jeez, you're practically ancient! ....YES, I'm being sarcastic!

Honestly, this is exactly like that one applicant who wrote comics on the back of her history notes. I commented that it was unprofesssional to have a comic that looks like it was written because they didn't study in math class, and she thought that having it on history notes, as opposed to math notes, made alllll the difference.

And reinder, don't appologize for me. You didn't call him stupid, I did. And frankly, he hasn't shown me evidence to the contrary. I don't care if he's 10 or 110.

Quote from: grieverActually, to be honest, I thought it was spam, which is why I didn't respond.
I thought the same thing, except I did respond. And this is what it got me. :

General Chat / Spore = Best Game Ever?
May 07, 2006, 06:39:03 AM
Yeah I heard about this through VG cats a while back. Good stuff, it made some of my friends giggle insanely in a high-pitched squeallly voice. Considering most of my friends are guys who try to be all "manly" and stuff, that's pretty good. :)

I think my favorite part was when they stuck that one creature on that undeveloped planet. That made me laugh non-stop for about the rest of the movie.

I don't know about how well they sensor things, but their censoring sure has gotten out of hand. It's probably because our country was pretty much built by Christian religious zealots, though. And we all know how THEY feel about these things...

yeah, I only got to 6 before I got bored and left. I have a fair amount of patience, but little amount of focus....

You've got a lot of good points there too, xeph, it's more a game of getting inside the person's mind than an actual logic game. I've never been a real fan of these kind of things, it's too much like those mystery novels where you try to figure out how the perpetrator of such-and-such a crime did it and what their motives were, or something. I dunno, I hate mystery novels anyway so I never read them, I'm just generalizing. :P

P.S. level 4 is actually pretty easy.... *coughhigh5cough*

[edit] okay after about an hour going through this with some of the hints on the forum I got up to level 26. Then I got bored again....oh well.

[edit edit] also, my eyes feel like they're burning from that white background.

Ah yes, this "lent" thing I have heard of, ironically from that Chocolate movie (or however you spell it). I should have known it came around easter. There had to be a reason for that holiday besides rabbits, eggs, and pastels...

And yeah, we haven't really talked much. BUT! That doesn't mean I can't welcome you back with marshmallows. ;) so HI! back.

Man, there's really a baby that looks like a goomba? I gotta see that. XD I bet he/she's adorable.
