Hi Xepher,

Was just passing by and noticed this news post.  I clicked on the register link and it looks like you're using SMF's default CAPTCHA.  I'm pretty sure this has been cracked by spambots already.  You might want to check out the reCAPTCHA plugin for SMF.  I've had zero trouble since I installed it a few months back on my comic site.  Then again, wouldn't be much help if you think you're getting human spammers.  Best of luck. :)

Applications / Re: Metamor Keep Story Archive

Awesome!  Thanks. :)

He he, I actually offered to maintain the TSA site at one point, but all that did was stir a lengthy debate on whether it's better to reply to emails at the top or the bottom of the quoted text... *shrugs*

Some guys did step up and make a sort of successor to the TSA site in shifti.org, but it's just MediaWiki software... kinda boring.  I have more fun things in plan for MK. ;)

Metamor Keep is a shared setting story universe comprised of well over 300 stories, including one Ursa Major award winner and another nominee.  I have had the pleasure of maintaining this archive for the past six months after the previous maintainer had to step down, and am planning some improvements on the current design.  The current site is located at http://transform.to/~metamor/

Basically the reason we need to move is there's no database available on the current server, and all the fun stuff I have planned requires one. Hundreds of static HTML pages are a tad bothersome to maintain. ;)   I have had my own story archive hosted here on xepher.net since March and have been thoroughly impressed with the service, so this was a natural choice.

I have the domain metamorkeep.com I'd like to associate with this account.

Thank you for your consideration!

The downside (to a few people) will be that it won't really be configurable anymore. It's going to be a set size/color/shape/etc. so people will have to redesign their pages a bit.

Awww... I've got mine all styled up and colorized too. :)

Counter's no big loss, as they're pretty easy to write.

Looking forward to the new server!

You, sir, have won my utmost respect. (Heh...)

I've an office job that ranges from tolerably unamusing, to mind numbingly boring, depending on the day.  But it pays well, so I can't complain.  It also leaves me with an ample amount of daydreaming time, which is necessary for me to write my silly stories when I go home. :)

Ha ha, is it that unoriginal? Yes I coded it myself. :)

Thanks for taking the time to read my stories.  I'm really glad you enjoyed them.  Writing is a new thing to me.  I hated it back in college, but have found myself trying out and enjoying new things lately.  It's much more pleasurable with zero constraints.  I think I might be able to compose three sentences if given 10 minutes, heh.

Hello!

I'm looking for a better host for my website at http://virmir.com.  This is an archive for my short stories, which I hope to have a sizable number of one day (though there are only four right now!)  My theme is animal transformations, though I may expand in the future.

As far as update frequency goes, I can't really say, as these things come out of me randomly.  I seem to have managed a new story every 2-3 weeks during the two months the site has been up, though I'm not sure I can maintain that frequency.  I think I can probably get something new up at least every two months or so, though.  If this isn't regular enough to qualify, then I totally understand.

Thank you for your consideration!
