::notices her name being mentioned::...hey! That's cool!

If you need any help on what you're trying to achieve, definitely email me. I had a lot of trial and error when it came to the start up of the website, so if you need anything, I don't mind being helpful.  :)

You don't have to do the inking and coloring in all digital. You could easily produce comics using traditional methods, like watercolors, color pencils, ink, markers, or just maxing out with graphite, using the full range of shading (or a combo of two or more of the previous mediums). You just need to do it with good craftsmanship like you would with digital. Using good materials always helps too, like bristol board for paper instead of cheap sketchpad. They take in more work and won't tear or get worn by as much erasing/fixing. Or you can just trace and clean up sketchy page and have a clean, well drawn page for inking.

I recommend at least inking the comic yourself, using the tracing method over the sketchy pages with maybe a rag marker paper, that's slightly transparent, or just good paper like bristol board and some form of light table substitute like a window on a sunny day or a glass table with a flashlight underneath. If you can't use traditional nib pens and ink, a brush pen, or those pigma micron type pens, at least use a pen that's got a good black ink to it and perhaps archival, like sharpie fine tip or whatever. Having white acrylic or even white-out is handy too for quick fixes. Honesty, you should really invest in good materials if this is something you want to get into, so do take that into consideration.

Just presenting more options than the usual digital means. It's even possible to just do the speech bubbles and lettering yourself, but I think that should probably be left for the digital methods. Most people don't have legible handwriting or they write too small for the web. Just make sure to pick a good font that's clean and not "trendy" or comic sans ms. You'll get ripped apart by any webcomic artist for doing so (especially for the comic sans font).

Hope that helps.

Okay, I seem to have fixed my original issue, but now I'm concerned by how it appears in Safari. Some of the images become smaller and some are abnormally large. Is there something that can be done about that?

bah, that's not a real good page to use, but the first five images are the same for both the sidebar and gallery. It just repeats for me. Maybe the browser's doing it. I'll test it out.

So...I don't know what the deal is...but my lightbox coding (or something else) is all messed up. I don't know if it's just wordpress and the lightbox plugin doesn't want to work with each other or what, but it's keeps doing weird things that I don't have a clue how to fix.

(http://fraunie.xepher.net/blog/?page_id=39) This page gives a good example of what I'm talking about. I want the sidebard and the gallery to display separately with light box. When you click on the first image in the gallery, it wants to go to the sidebar instead and go through those first. Originally, I had the sidebar on the right side, but every time you clicked on an gallery image, those 6-8 images would just attach themselves to the end. Does anybody else run into this bug? I can't seem to figure out a way to get it to work right.

I found one of "blog_id", so I think it's correct...but it doesn't seem to change the situation.

Frack, I don't know what I did now. I wanted to change the name from "wordpress" to "blog" then it just won't let me edit anything now, even when I try to change it back to "wordpress". Everytime I try to log in, it tells me the cookies are disabled or block, but I didn't touch that stuff. Is this a host related issue or should I try to bother the wordpress forums?

okay, sleep helped me now and I figured out that me keeping it in the "wordpress" folder makes a difference, which is a major "duh" all around. Anyway, thanks!

yeah, that's where I got stuck. It gives me a 404 error right now. I might have to take a few steps backward and see if I messed up something in the upload process...

This might be me just hitting my dumb point as my sleep deprivation hits, but after you upload the wordpress onto your directory, it says you're suppose to run the installation script, by accessing wp-admin/install.php. This is where I lack a certain understanding by what they mean. It's probably super-simple, but feel super dumb not being able to figure it out. Help?
