Knowhow Trading Post / A Auto disconnect
January 16, 2009, 06:31:54 AM
ok, help would be great on this problem.

Alright, i've been playing on Team Fortress 2 alot and i've been having this horrible problem with auto-disconnect and booting me of the server.
I never use to happen to me and I would like to know if it would be my router. I do have a wireless router and I think it could be the ISP but I can't tell.
I have though a modem that is a Motorola and we use that for vonage and then we have a out-dated cable router which is a motorola surf i believe then I got the wireless one which is Belkin. Could it be the Belkins ISP sense thats where I'm getting my connection from?

I know gaming on a mac is a no-no actually big no no, sense mac just fails at gaming. Anyways I use cross over games, sense my PC's video card decided to go down the drain I play on my mac on the time being. I'm not sure if cross over could be the link to the connection problem but I'm giving all the information to you to see the problem through.

(yeah don't hassle me on the mac thing. I usually don't do this)

oh also i'm thinking about a nice video card, any good ones. I've been think about a nice nvidia

General Chat / Valve and Steam
January 15, 2009, 02:47:22 AM
I liked valve for a number of years on the games such as half-life and the follow up by half life 2 and the episodes. I'm waiting for another episode of half life or just another good game like left 4 dead. So to keep the time I play Team Fortress 2, though I don't play the xBox 360 of it anymore sense it lags out. Anyways TF2 on the PC is much better. achievements for upgrades/weapons

so on this post:
do you game and whats your most fav'd game?

I have had bad experience with cars so far, and not bad as this.
no parts. it's a shame.
like most foreign cars don't have parts in the states all the time and they get expensive! it was a horrible week.

but I hope everything goes swell either on a new part or a new used car or just a plain brand new one!

Art / Re: Comic Art Help
January 06, 2009, 02:05:28 AM
heh, well i've been working on the comics from bunch of help you guys and other friends here, it's all about getting the right kinda of style art I want to make for the comic I'm thinking of.

just one question:
when making comics you rough draft the comic in pencil and when all done you take a marker or nice fine point marker? when I do it, really doesn't look as good as I wanted. If I take time on them maybe they will be a tad better, though I don't rush the drawings themselves just take more time then what i'm doing.

oh sorry I don't want to confuse you.
On Deviant art you upload things on a profile or a better term, a portfolio. You don't have much control on how it's shown, or cased.
here I'm able to express myself through code design and really set a generalization of what my art represents, or give a feel for the atmosphere on the website.
in all terms just being able be free in the sense that I can show my art work in any shape or form here.

oh, yes and with the portfolio thing being online, and then when you asked or suggested Deviant art, what I met by it was I still got to go through senior year at high school, and to tell you the truth I rushed on getting a portfolio online but when I had actually seen why people got sites on here, I stopped and thought about why I am applying. I was mainly doing it for the wrong reason.
Now I see what this really all about, and I would like to really just work on art and be myself here.

well I can see where your going with the portfolio. I looked at the websites here and said I really don't need this as a online portfolio I just wanna make art! I've been working on comics and other art for this, i got my senior year to make a portfolio, and it's not going to be online.

I love it how they refer to "Windows" as "PC" and "Mac" as a "Mac" system. First of all, Windows runs on a PC as does Linux, Unix, and any other variety of it (as well as on some other platforms). Mac is indeed an OS but used to only run on Apple systems. More or less, Windows is an OS, Linux is an OS, and Mac is an OS. Now here's the funny thing... now days they ALL run on a PC. They all run on a standard IBM or IBM compatible i386/i686 or x86_64.

I'm in full belief that is people don't understand the terminology, they don't have enough knowledge to make an informed decision on what is and is not better than the rest.

In addition, each OS has its own usefulness. It depends on what you're doing with them. Pretty much every single computer generated movie out there is produced using Linux run rendering farms, not Mac or Windows. Most general gamers and business people use Windows systems. Then you have the Mac users who think they're better just because they overpaid for the SAME DAMN HARDWARE that I can get in a Dell for half to a third the price, just because it has some pretty logo of an Apple on it.

true about IBM, but mac isn't all about a pretty logo though such as windows being over 9000 ;D
