General Chat / Who has Steam accounts?
June 06, 2011, 05:16:41 PM
Hey folks!

I recently got a new computer capable or running a higher resolution than 800 x 600 so I'm back in the computer gaming world! I was wondering if any of you fine folks had a steam account so I may add some friends.

General Chat / Any Mummers 'Loud in?
December 10, 2009, 05:18:39 PM
I don't know what you guys do for Christmas traditions but I'm going mummering this weekend!

In the Newfoundland sense  of mummering we just dress up in a silly disguise and go to houses and jig and get druuunk(now obviously you can't be as willy nilly with it now as you where back in the day what with the pedophiles and murderers running amok)

Here is a song about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E86bcriRtW8 (it was made in the 70's I'm sure, be gentle)

Now as a warning I'm sure if you do this other than in a province/town that is aware that this kind of thing exists YOU.WILL.BE.SHOT please mummer at your own risk!

General Chat / And Another Thing...
December 07, 2009, 04:55:36 PM
What? WHAT? When did this happen? I don't know how I feel about a sixth addition to the trilogy that is not by Douglas Adams.

Has any one here read this novel? How does it measure up? I mean, aside from being 5.5 x 8.25.

I got it as an early birthday gift.

I enjoyed it, it was a nice change from the last few. Some parts seemed a bit rushed and glossed over but all in all a fine read.

GOOD TIMES.

Namely the name. This magazine will have no defined topic or path, I just want random stuff to publish as a pdf for people to download every month. I'm also probably going to be looking for contributors. Right now I just I need a name that I could use as a domain name .com or .net is cool.

Suggestions?

PS It can't be too too vulgar.

General Chat / So I was watching Cars the other day...
January 11, 2007, 10:49:29 PM
The whole world is just cars, car insects, car characters, frig even the mountains where in the shapes of cars, anyway I was wondering how that world came to be.

Do you think there was a Car Jesus? Or cavecars? Car dinosaurs? What's the lifespan of your average car? How do cars reproduce (car stork anyone)? Is there a car factory somewhere where cars make other cars? Do we have like teenage cars working at fast food joints (but for cars obviously)? Are there car psychedelic drugs? Is there rehab for the cars addicted for these drugs?

So many questions left unanswered, thank you Pixar, THANK YOU.

Funny how I can nod my head and go "yep I know what that's like" to most of the examples she gives.

I will be, to http://www.childsplaycharity.org/. I've decided that I'm donating my usual Christmas gift budget to Childs Play this year (as long as they do expand to Cananda like they said they would).

I kinda hate the whole materialistic feeling of Christmas anyway and whoever gets mad at me for not buying them a nice big present, well fuck them, they clearly wern't in it for the egg nog and jolly times with family and friends anyway.

I'm sure my money would be better used for sick children than buying some junk for people I don't talk to much anyway. I'll still probably get a small gift, maybe hand made or personal for my close family and close friends. No more buying junk for my long lost aunt because she'll bring it up at the next family reunion. And no more buying stuff for someone I haven't even talked to in 2 years because she'll bitch me out about it next time I see her.

the whole read right to left thing. Unless the person who's making it reads/writes primarily that way, there's really no point to me. I know translated mangas are still read right to left. I think that's because since the writers/artists read and are used to following the motion that way, it would look weird flipped. Some people say it's more traditional and authentic I guess, but I figure if they really wanted it tradtional and authentic they wouldn't have it online.

There's a few I read that are like it, and I certainly wouldn't not read one because of it, I just don't really know why people do it. Am I the only one?
