Greetings,

I am a hobbyist photographer from Chatham-Kent, ON Canada. I take pictures quite often of anything ranging from birds and wildlife to local events and landmarks across Canada and other places. I am hoping to have some space on Xepher so I can have a wordpress oriented site to share my photography with more people. (My stuff is currently hosted on Flickr) So, without any further ado:

Username: throughdanielslens

Email: danthephotoman14ATgmail.com

Site Description: Photography and videography by Daniel Swan featuring posts that tell audiences the stories behind the captures

My current homepage is my Flickr Account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/photosbydanieljswan

The current site has many photos that I have taken some from as far back as 1997 and some as recent as a few weeks ago.

So, hope you like my photos and think I have something to offer your audience, and hope I can get a site hosted here.
Thank you for your time in reading my application. :)

Sorry I'm so slow to respond to this. It's been ages since someone last applied for an account, so the forum isn't nearly as active as it used to be.

Nice photos! You've clearly been at it a while!

That said, I'd like to ask what plans or needs you have that make xepher.net a better fit for your site than any of the services more directly dedicated to art/photography. E.g. what're you planning/hoping to do that you couldn't more easily do on sites like flickr, photobucket, deviantart, or even wordpress.org itself?

Secondly, the services here are pretty low level. You get file and shell access, but you'd have to install and maintain wordpress (and anything else you use) on your own. Do you feel you have the technical skill to be able to do that?

Hi and thanks again for the response:

In response to Question 1:
I am hoping to make something of an "Official" blog that I can write articles related to the photos and videos I take. Being a man on a fixed income some of these services (eg: Wordpress) ask for money to host these ad-free sites or becoming a pro or core member which I cannot afford plus there are a lot of benefits to Wordpress that appeal to Videographers and Photographers which I admire. I thought of your service because I have seen it advertised online so I thought I'd take a shot at it.

Now for Question 2:
I used to manage web sites for individuals so I am pretty fluent in FTP and I am familiar with installing and managing Wordpress as a friend had me help him out with it once so yes I do have a bit of technical skills in me

I hope this answers your questions and thanks again for reading my application
