Okay, my admin account here (adminATxepherDOTnet) gets a LOT of spam. I mean, we're talking 50+ a day. My spam filters are pretty good, only letting through a few each week, but because they're so strict, it is possible that they might accidently catch a legit email. If you worry this may be the case with a message your sending, there are a couple of keyword triggers I've setup to let you bypass the spam filters, and optionally recieve an automated confirmation that your message went through. The keywords are used simply by including them anywhere in the subject line of your email.

The first word is "wombat" which will bypass the spam filters.
QuoteThe wombat lives across the seas,
Among the far Antipodes.
He may exist on nuts and berries,
Or then again, on missionaries;
His distant habitat precludes
Conclusive knowledge of his moods.
But I would not engage the wombat
In any form of mortal combat.

-- "The Wombat" Ogden Nash
The second word is "tyger" which will bypass spam filters and send an automated response to you to confirm this.
QuoteTyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart,
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Wow. I never figured out why spammers send e-mails with a bunch of completely totally random words. Now I know it's probably to bypass things like this. Nice choice of words though, and a good initiative ^^

No, it's to confuse the spam filter itself, not to try and get a keyword bypass. Very few people use things like that, but almost everywhere filters spam. If they throw a bunch of random gibberish in, it makes it harder for filters to detect what the actual content of the message is.

Actually, I hate to say it cause I hate spam with a passion, but spam emailing people is a great business to be in right now. I know people who bring in big $$ doing it. It's a form of advertising one way or another, and no it's not illegal so long as you place a working opt-out link of some form at the bottom of the email.

Sad but true. Not saying I support it, but it is a viable, and decent business, even if it is spawn of satan himself.

Yeah, porn is another great money making business, but that doesn't mean I want to get involved with it either. Same goes for just about anything sleezy. Arms smuggling, drug dealing, car audio sales, etc. All make great money if you have no moral standards. Nothing new though, selling your soul has always had pretty good monetary returns. I'm trying to figure out where on that line Radio Shack sits, because I think I just got offered a job there, and I sure could use the money.
