In the apparent upcoming issues within the middle east, you know american tech is still hiding things that we've probably got hidden (just like back in WW2). Now even though this isn't an actual defense company, this would be quite cool, but also extremely dangerous in the wrong hands.

Problem is, with no "proven tests" it's extremely hard to beleive that it's possible, but still:

I believe it when I (don't) see it. Right now, I'll just say that I see better photoshop skills in fark.com contests.

Right, I was thinking that it's just skeptical that there have been no "live" demonstrations.

I'm calling fake (or vaporware), too  I haven't seen any active systems that worked except for small squares in controlled lab conditions.  As far as I know, Saab (yeah, the same swedish company) makes the best multispectral camo nets out there.  All the major powers (the press says the US is buying it to replace current nets) seem to be buyi ng their 'Barracuda' netting.

I already linked this in another thread... but it fits quite well here. http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2006/06/friday_cephalopod_peekaboo_oct.php

Now THAT'S optical camouflage! When I see a live demo of technology that can do that, then I'll be impressed.
