My nickname: Rheill

Hopeful website username: fuzzy-slippers

Email: rheill(AT)baggend(DOT)net or rudite829(AT)hotmail(DOT)com. I check both daily.

Site description: Fuzzy Slippers will be a personal page to host my art and writing.

Convincing you it won't be boring:
You can check out my deviant art page (over here:http://rheill.deviantart.com/) for examples of my art and the like. I've been working with html since I was eleven, and am currently using Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver to build a personal page. I hope to update the site regularly (every week or two) with new art and writing, especially since I'm working on a novel at the moment. (I know, another amateur author! The horrors! Well, it's for a project that I have to do in order to graduate, so even if it's not professional grade it shouldn't be too horrible.)

A screenshot of what I have for a layout right now can be found over here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/rhel829/Image1.jpg. As you can see, it lacks content, but I'm working to remedy that. (Also, you can probably tell I like iFrames, and I know that tiny windows annoy some people. Just rest assured that I really like to make and remake web layouts, so based on feedback it will be easy to find something that works.)

Thanks for checking my application, and I look forward to your comments.

Running late, yadda yadda.

Art is nice, although points off for caramelldansen references....*shudder* so scary...

It'd be nice to see the website in action, but you've got time. Make it shine!

Gotta go.
I don't hate everyone, I'm just very, very disappointed in them.

rheill

Thanks! That's very encouraging.  :)

(Aren't you glad I'm not focusing my web design around caramelldansen? Now that would be traumatizing.)

tickyhead

Oh shoes, that would be horrible! >< Aaagh, mental image! It burns!

I love caramelldansen!  I should drag out my icon but I won't inflict that on people.

I'll ask the question I ask most people with only DA accounts...are you looking to simply create a mirror of your DA account in website form or will there be unique content only on your website?  In other words, why is having a website in addition to your DA account beneficial?

With that asked, I like your artwork.  Especially the Hiro one. x.x

Good question!

As far as art goes, there will be a lot of similarities between my DA and any website I have, naturally. However, I only really post what I deem as "finished" artwork on DA - stuff I've taken hours on and want critique on, etc. My website will have anything I want to and have the ability to post. I don't know if that makes it better, but yeah... there will be differences.

I also tend not to post writing on DA simply because I don't really like to read writing on DA.  :-\ So, that is something that will definitely be offered by a website that my DA would not.

Thanks!

I'm also working on getting a working website up for you all to sample around in over here: http://fuzzy-slippers.0moola.com/. Feel free to poke around though there's not much there, yet.

The art is pretty good, and the site looks like you'll be able to handle maintaining things. I've been sick this past week, and I'm just now getting back up to speed. Leaning towards a yes here.

Xepher

Haven't heard from you in a few weeks. You still around/interested?

rheill

Yep yep! Sorry, I've been kind of out of it lately.

I'd love to hear your final decision.

Xepher

All right, you're in! You should have an email with login info and instructions.

rheill

Thanks very much!  :D I'll get the site up A.S.A.P.
