So I figured I'd take a sort of "poll" of xepher.net regulars and see what their tastes are in comics. I'm gonna do this in a specific format, so pay attention. :-)

1: What's your favorite webcomic? Doesn't matter how popular or obvious. (Penny Arcade goes here.)

2: What's your favorite webcomic you'd wager no one else here has likely heard of? Tell us about something small and just starting out.

3: What's your favorite webcomic that you just found (or started really reading) in the last 6 months or so? Tell us about the new one that's caught your attention.

I'm gonna answer my own poll first... and I realize that I read so many that it's hard to pick even 3 favorites.

1: I think I have to say XKCD.com for this one. I get so many of the jokes, and they're jokes that are often so obscure as to be funny just for that.

2: I'd say Skinhorse... Partially created by someone I'm on a writing list with. http://www.webcomicsnation.com/shaenongarrity/skinhorse/series.php It's pretty amusing, even though it's pretty new as well.

3: I think I'll have to go with "Crap I Drew On My Lunch Break" http://crap.jinwicked.com/ which I just found (and read the entire archive of) today. Interesting art style, and good one-off humor.

Indeed, Xeph. Trying to make me choose favorites out of all the ones I read!? That's just mean...

I guess I'll say my favorite is Gunnerkrigg Court, because I'm a mythology geek and the author is incredibly good at blending old mythos with his own world. A close second might be Dresden Codak or DMFA...

One that not many might have heard of...well I don't know, I'll just throw out one called Five Star. It's on Girlmatic, so I guess anyone who keeps up with that site would know about it...

Aaaand a new one I really like would have to be Order Of The Stick, which I finally read the entirety of back in April. All I can say is why oh why did I not start reading this sooner!?

I'm tired from a vacation, so apologies if I sound off.
I don't hate everyone, I'm just very, very disappointed in them.

I hadn't heard of Five Star, but I love the rest of them. I ALMOST put gunnerkrieg court as my "new" comic, as I just found it this month. OOTS is one I've been reading for a few years now, same with DMFA (duh) and Dresden Codak. I'm gonna go lookup girlmatic now.

If you're going over to Girlamatic:

Then please also check out Jeepers by Andre Richard, Gypsy by John Peters, and The Return of Dr. Dragonwagon by Marilyn Scott-Waters.  I'd maybe even put Jeepers as my answer to question #1 here.

For #2, I'd point to The World of Mr. Toast by Dan Goodsell at http://theimaginaryworld.com

And for #3, some old comics that were on the web pre-2000 but then disappeared and have recently reappeared: the works of Chuck Melville.  They're now at http://www.comicspace.com/chuck_melville/comics.php.

I've been enjoying Skin Horse and Gunnerkrigg Court as well and was reading Five Star back in its pre-Girlamatic days--'cause I'm an old fogey, I reckon...

Good time to ask, with a number of comics hitting rocky updates, Schlock Mercenary (http://www.schlockmercenary.com/) is an easy choice for #1.

Little Tales (http://www.little-tales.com/index.php?Strip=1) has been on my mind for a while and fits #2 well.

And for number 3...hard choice, but I think I'll go with Chirault (http://sevensmith.net/chirault/pages/00_01.html).  Can't pass up that artwork.

MHPayne: ooo...good choices, I don't recognize any of those.  Time to read.

My favorite that's currently running is 8-Bit Theater (and I don't care what people think about that, heh).

My favorite of all time, though? Kid Radd. If you never read that comic, you missed out on a treat. The archives are here: http://home.att.net/~miller.daniel.r/index.htm
"Not even the Human can stop me now..."

I read like fifty billion webcomics, how can I just choose one. D:

One that's really up there is Shades of Grey. Another is HERO. There're just some amazingly great/well-written/artistic ones out there. I'll link to them when I can answer this question better. <3
And wasn't it you who told me,
"The sun would always chase the day"?
