Hi, My name is Rose, I go by Misako or Rose Fawx. The website link for my current site is the layout. I was using that free server,  it was good for a week or so, but then it got all, addy. You can see all the millions of ads :/

I draw anthropomorphic. I'm just looking for a server where I can showcase my own art. I get harassed on sheezy and I really don't like having my personal art there. I'm working on a webcomic, nothing lengthy, just little strips. And I have a few stories and character bios I want to put up.

I also had 3 questions about content.

A friend of mine would like to share the site with me, is that allowed? he'll just have a gallery and a update page.

If that is allowed can he put gore/violent drawings? He does macabre cartoony, lots of detail. He doesn't draw hateful violence. Spooky is just his style. If you need art samples from him I can add them.

I see that adult art is not allowed, we cannot post it even in a password protected gallery? If not I can just post my adult art somewhere else. (I don't draw alot anyways :p)

Porn is not allowed, nudity and sex is.

Violence Ruling: Violence shall not be excessive. I've yet to see an example of excessive violence in any application or site here. Violence is allowed for anything short of "violence for the sake of violence." There are people who get their kicks from things like watching snuff films, or seeing horrid depictions of blood and gore. Most anything short of that is probably okay. Basically, if the violence is plot or story related, no problem. Start posting pictures of dead babies to get your jollies, and you're out. What I do ask for anything above about a PG-13 rating is that you post some sort of warning before people see it.

Porn/Sex/Nudity Ruling: Nudity is allowed. Sex is allowed. Porn is not allowed. Let's seperate the three. Porn is nudity and/or sex only for reasons of carnal gratification. Are you drawing or writing a scene as part of a real story or plot? Or just for purposes of arousal and pleasure? I really think this one should be pretty obvious to most people... with the possible exception of anyone who genuinely reads playboy for the articles. :-) The easiest analogy is the difference between R and NC17 rated movies. NC17=No (most of the time.) R is allowed, but like violence, I ask you to have warnings for any content above about a PG-13 rating.

Multiple Accounts Ruling: You can have and/or apply for multiple accounts. Getting a second account is going to be tougher to justify though. You'll need to truely have two independant sites that independantly qualify. Usually this happens when a single artist has multiple comics, both of good quality. In cases like that, it actually can make things easier on me to keep them seperate, as I can assign seperate domains to each one, keep stats seperate, and even promote them more directly though things like the newsbox. Bottom line: If you think you need a second site, then feel free to apply. Be sure to note that it's a second site though. The worst that'll happen is I say no. :-)

Once again, and I stress... password protection via Javascript is in no way secure. It's too easy to break a pages security when the password is written directly into the page source. Once you have webspace, if you are looking to protect a pages content, use something like PHP or Perl. A server side scripting language that is a bit harder to break.

Yea, I know Java isnt secure, It's really just to keep 1 person out, and my current server doesnt allow apache or php :/

It's just something I seem to see somewhat frequently. Just letting people know. Under the situation of a javascript lockout for any website, all you really need to do (in most cases) is disable javascript and reload the page, then view source and walla! Javascrips source code, easy to read (providing you can follow through some javascripts out there).

I've even seen sites that attempt to obscure the javascript password protection file stuff by making the initial script do a bunch of weird character stuff to generate a name for another javascript to load. Those are pretty amusing, esspecially since someone obviously put a lot of work into trying to block people and all you really need to do (most the time) to break it is shut off javascript for your browser. Even more so, security through obscurity is bad practice in itself.

Try it sometime. Next time you have a site that pops up with a javascript "Password Required" type window, disable javascrips and reload the page (note that some javascripts are designed to load page content as well, and thus will not display at all, this is still not hard to bypass since you have the sourcecode right there). Under firefox with the web developer tools, this is an easy thing to do from the webdev menus.

Thanks for that info. If i do choose to password protect my gallery I'll definetly secure it better, this was just basic, and I was warned that it's easy to break. Hopefully I can find a server that allows apache or harder to crack passwords.

Although I think your layout is nice and clean, as well as your art is along the lines of free thinking, I had surfed to your commission status. In there I found you openly will draw anything, and you even outline you'll do porn as well.

Surfing to your galleries, you have a MATURE link which you outline leads to "sex and violence" with clarification that it's mainly "bloody/gore." I feel this might be alittle too excessive for the Xepher site as described, but since the gallery links arnt active I cant see what your definition of "gore" is...

I dont think the rest of the site will be a problem, but it might help to leave the "porn, violence, and gore" off the plate.

I read that part and already clarified that I will not post what Xepher does not allow. I also found out what violence is allowed and most of my art is pretty mild, I don't draw too much nudity, and my violence is even rarer, but I do plan on asking a lot of questions before posting any art. and I do plan on putting UBER warnings on any non g rated pics, even if it's a little bad language.

Oh okay, I overlooked that post; sorry about that. As I said I didnt see the bulk of the art in question, but from what it had explained it hadnt looked in accordance with Xepher's policies.

Would you have a site or be able to make changed to your current one that will comply with the rules for people to see..?
