I've been looking for free web hosting that supports php and my own domain name (which I plan on purchasing in the future, if I get accepted.) I found Xepher.net through 'http://tripout.xepher.net/' a long time ago but I didn't know until now that I'd be able to have my own domain name hosted here (FAQ "How can I link a domain name to my account here?" cleared that for me.)
As far as webdesign.. I had a website on geocities a couple years ago, and I had a website hosted by a friend(now expired!) last year so I know html and basic php includes. I still have access to my old geocities account so here I've just uploaded some of my past site layouts as samples. Unfortunatley I lost most of my backup layouts but these are two of my favourites:

I actually see your art on VCL all the time, and I was surprised to see a name I recognized on a new application here. Obviously your art is good to go, and while I'd normally want a better example for web design, I'm gonna take your word that you know HTML and enough PHP to get by here. As such, you're in! You should have an email with instructions to follow on getting started here.
One thing to note, I'm in the process of building a new server, so sometime in the next month or two, there's going to be a few bumps while everything is moved over. If you hang around the forums here, you'll be able to keep up to date with exactly when/how that's gonna happen. Just don't be upset if you can't update for a couple days while it happens.

Welcome, Rikki! I honestly can't say I've heard of you, but I'm sure you'll fit right in. (What is VCL, anyway?)
@Mune: Xepher was more busy, then, too...or at least not online as much.

Mune: Yeah, I was rather busy when you were applying. It wasn't a question of "if" but when really. :-)
Dragyn: VCL is "Vixen Controlled Links" or at least it used to be... now it's doesn't officially stand for anything. It's one of the larger (and less discriminate) furry art archives on the web. They've got an "anything goes" policy that allows all sorts of stuff many other art sites disallow. Lots and lots of the art is porn, and most of that is pretty badly drawn. However, it is HUGE, so if you're willing to wade through the muck, you can find some good art. Rikki is one of those mental bookmarks I have when I'm scanning the recent posts at VCL.
