Title: Photos
Post by: Xepher on May 31, 2008, 05:51:04 AM
I'm sure I must've posted some of this elsewhere, but... well, I went to the zoo yesterday, and came back with a few good pictures (and a lot of not so good ones.) The gallery is online at http://xepher.xepher.net/Pictures/index.php?dir=SA%20Zoo and if you go to just http://xepher.xepher.net/Pictures/ you can find all my photos. Some of it's interesting, most of it's dull. But I figured I'd just post it for fun. Sometime soon, I need to dig through all my pictures and create a gallery of my personal favorites. For the Zoo, this was probably my "best" pictures (http://xepher.xepher.net/Pictures/index.php?display=SA%20Zoo%2Fdsc_0151.jpg), even though the Hippo is one of the most dull animals, this one at least had the good grace to let me get a good angle on it. All the cool creatures were sleeping or hiding. I was especially annoyed that the Snow Leopards were all away/indoors. Oh well, can't blame 'em. It was near 100f outside. :-)

I think that one's pretty awesome too.  Background can't be helped but the animal normal.  The poisonous frogs are also cool but I also like them anyway.  I used to have little plastic versions of them all over my room. ^_^

Awesome shots there. :D
The pink bird(flamingo in a tree?) is my all-time fave but that last "Whatchu lookin' at?" bear photo had me laughing so hard.

Well, glad ya'll like 'em. :-)

I know most zoos are all the same, but I find it's a lot more fun if you take a camera.

I forgot about this one... http://xepher.xepher.net/Pictures/index.php?display=SA%20Zoo%2Fdsc_0004.jpg

I want to make it into a motivational-poster type funny picture. I figure two ducks sitting in the grizzly enclosure has got to be a punchline for something... I just can't figure out what.

How about...

SITTING DUCKS
They suspect nothing...

Yeah, not the best.

That's actually not half bad... the sitting ducks part works great, just need a wittier punch.

Maybe "Situational Awareness: Without it, you're just a sitting duck." or "Literacy: (ditto)" Or for the D&D theme, "Spot Check: Fail it, and you're a sitting duck."

Ah yes, I think I'll do that last one.

Oh, another one!
SITTING DUCKS
Ironically, not sitting.

I like my motivational posters short and sweet. but D&D references are always good, too.

or rather than the same ol' D&D puns you could call it a "Perception Check" and make fun of Warhammer for once.  :P

Heh, yeah, but then no one would get it. :-)

Odd coincidence.. I have a music playlist made up of about 3 years of indie rock playlists (around 3000 songs) set to random. Just as I came to view this, it went to a song I'd never heard before called "Two Sitting Ducks" by Danielson. I love weird things like that.

Too late.  In 4th edition D&D they're combined spot and listen into one perception roll...
