Ardra / Re: The Road Trip (Redux)

It looks so much better now, doesn't it!  We have a lot planned for the future besides some great remake strips, though. Ardra may try her hand at dating again, or perhaps a certain villainous team-up hinted at in an earlier storyline might occur. Stay tuned, and thanks for reading Ardra!

Because this forum's been dead for waaaay too long (somebody really needs to take over chucklyfun's old "comic review" postings), here's some giant squid-related news:

Ardra / San Diego: America's Squid Capital?
July 16, 2009, 09:37:09 PM
Swikan (of the comic "Life's A Witch") posted this on Twitter:  http://www.statesman.com/news/content/shared-gen/ap/National/US_Squid_Invasion.html

I think Lenore's going to want Ardra to take a vacation in San Diego this year.  There's fine cuisine to be had!  SQUIDELICIOUS!

She'd probably just stand on shore and lift the squid out of the water with her mind.  As the old saying goes, give a super-intelligent girl with psychokenetic powers a giant squid, and feed her for a day.  Teach a super-intelligent girl with psychokenetic powers to fish for giant squid using her mind, and feed her for life!

Just noticed that you missed the previous comic, "Where Otto Goes, Trouble Follows".  It wasn't that bad, was it?  :)

Otto didn't leave, he was shunned by his mother!  http://www.ardracomic.com/comic/103

Otto and Ardra don't see the world the same way.  Too many personality conflicts, which leads to arguments.  Ardra can get pretty angry at times, but it's more exasperation with Otto's lifestyle than it is animosity.

Keep an eye out for our Men of Webcomics entry, which will be announced soon.

Ardra wanted to get out of the suit quickly after the explosion.

Ardra's hair can occasionally seem a bit longer, depending on the angle she's shown from.

Otto's past was talked about a bit during the Family Reunion storyline.  Specifically, here:

You don't remember Otto?  He was introduced in the "Family Reunion" storyline.  Of course, most people remember that one for Ardrienne.

Ardra was just finishing up what she thought would be a simple mixture, so none of that other stuff was neccessary at that point.  And as Freud might say, sometimes an explosion is just an explosion.

Eileen is very much Ardra's daughter.  There's quite a resemblance, isn't there?  Lenore, on the other hand, looks more like her father, and acts more like her aunt.

And I suppose that's the warm glow of a tender moment.  Either that, or Ardra was working with radioactive elements at some point earlier in the day.  :)

Ardra was 16 when she started working at Elwood Dilly Pharaceuticals.  She didn't like the job much, and only worked there a couple years...but more about that some other time.

Yeah, it was a little nudge.  And thanks, glad you liked this one.  Trevor really did a nice job with it.

It was actually 16, not 15 (typo/miswrite of the script), but yeah, Ardra really took on full courseloads.  Not having a life certainly helps.

The last panel and the buildup to it made me think of "Girl Genius" too.  Glad I wasn't the only one!

Ardra's belt buckle actually contains several small tools, which she sometimes uses to conduct experiments while she's out of the house.  Remember the tool kit from this comic?  http://www.ardracomic.com/comic/113?  She puts that in her belt buckle now.  It's the Bruce Wayne model.  :)

Ardra was really wanting a drastic change in her life, so she decided to immerse herself in a different culture, while learning a useful skill.

Aldla is every bit as smart as Ardra...but somehow not as obsessed with education as Ardra is.

The scene you mention that showed Anna arguing with Aldla was probably around the time Aldla graduated and decided to seek her fortune as a Hollywood agent.

Lenore has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of old movies and TV shows.  One suspects she spends a lot of time on IMDB.

And yes, Ardra and Aldla had a weird game setup of their own making, much as you describe.  Isn't there some kind of role-playing setup like that?  GURPS, or something?  It was a hit at MENSA meetings, but not so much anywhere else.  :)
