Xepher I want one of those tutorials too.

I have people asking me occasionally how I do stuff. I just shrug and say I don't know. Generally its prettymuch just me going with something, randomly refining areas and fixing it up over and over again until it feels right. Most of my images go through at least 4 different styles before Im happy.

Then they want to know how I draw stuff. I tell them, draw as long as I have, and you start to get the feel of things. Even still, Im not that great myself. I dont think art is something that can be taught really. You can share tips, but copying anothers style exactly is near impossible (and shouldnt be done in my opinion.) Art is something you see and slowly refine into your own style over a period of time. Sure you can learn proportions, but thats not everything.

Colorado is really pretty and a nice place to live, but I'd have to agree that the people of Texas are much better. Good choice. :)

Haha Xepher makes it seem so easy.

Yes, they all do have their differences. One of the main problems I have with internet explorer is that it doesn't block popups for nothing. Also, I get my happy and easy tabbed browing by just middle clicking a link in firefox.

Generally when I print something, which is almost never these days, I save it to my computer before printing it out. I don't have the money to afford to print whole web pages. It would absolutely kill my ink supply.

I used to check to make sure my site worked in all browsers, but I stopped after a while. I'm going to have to do a recheck soon to see if it works at 800x600, 1024x768 and in ie at the very least. Ah my laziness shall never know its bounds.

Data thats exactly what the other person told me, except just told me to delete that file. Thanks for the information on showing all the hidden files. I am going to enable it now and remember what use this all is.

I figured you would know something about it because you link firefox in your signature. I love firefox and don't ever plan on giving it up.

Nevermind. I bothered a friend long enough in AIM to get him to point me to the right folder I had to delete. Something got corrupted within the user folder and the only way to fix it was deleting the folder and getting it to refresh itself.

Which another friend had told me to do, but his run command couldn't do that job. : /

I ran AdAware on my computer and it cleaned off what I had, and I still get the error. My addons folder doesn't have anything in it, and no toolbars that shouldn't be there are on my list.

That is the second time I did it, and it still gives me the same issue. I uninstalled, deleted the folder from program files and then reinstalled the latest version after rebooting. I can't seem to figure this out.

I would love to assist you in my off time Xepher. I needlessly find myself browsing random pages before hopping off to bed everynight, so I could help beta-test any pages you put up. If I find something broken, you bet you'll hear about it.

Also, I can spread the word on dA and hopefully give you some graphics to have a bit of fun with.

I've been so busy lately with real life I dont want to sit here and say I'm all in, but when I have the free time I'll be there for you.

Bleh. I've come to the people who I really hope can assist with this.

My computer failed last month and I had to reinstall everything, includiing firefox. After about a week and an update, it started messing up on me. Whenever I try to save any sort of file, it errors out and closes all my windows. Now I love this browser and I dont want to have to switch, but having to copy past links into internet explorer so I can save a simple image is getting old.

Any help would be fantastic.

Technical Support / Transfers tonight (For Xepher)
April 12, 2006, 10:08:17 PM
Xepher since my computer recently died, I've been forced to copy my public_html folder back onto my computer this evening. That will explain the rather large transfer because it is the entire site, pictures and coded pages. I will be clearing out old files and then reuploading with the many changes. There should be multiple new images up and the excess images that weren't being used should be there as well.

I didn't know where else I shoudl post this. >.>

Announcements / Status, Plans, and Questions...
February 20, 2006, 05:28:09 AM
1. Take your time. So far nothing has been affected on my site but the front page being backed up. I would like it to be safe, but realistically I don't want you to do anything you can't at this moment.

2. Webserver (essential)
FTP (unsecure file upload... I may be getting rid of this anyway)
Email (username@xepher.net)
POP3 (email access protocol)
Email forwarding
Spam filtering
PHP (scripting... used by lots of webscripts/forums/etc, including the XN newsbox)
Statistics ( http://xepher.net/stats/ and in the future, more advanced stuff)
Web-based file manger/upload (possible addon in the future)

3. I prefer using FTP because it makes it a million times easier to transfer my files and back them up. Its instant and I hardly have to locate them at all.

5. The server has always been reliable except during its down times. To be truthful, I've always used my own site as a 'Does my internet work right now?" check.

6. Unfortunately, I don't think my art is quite up there enough to bring in any money, but I'm trying to work on that. Once I do get out of this house and into college, I wouldnt mind trying to donate some spare money to the server. However, I'm not really sure how you could bring in others that coudl help earn money. marketing isnt really my thing.

7. Allowing a few trusted people might be of use to you. However, I wouldnt mind helping with the application process if I could. I don't have much time to myself these days but checking the forums once a week may not kill me.

good luck Xepher and I hope everythign runs smoothly.

Ahh true Data. I don't think I want to know what he did with the inside of his house. The stairs probably play fur elise or something. (Which actually I would like to see that.)
