Knowhow Trading Post / Re: Webcomic Software Solutions
September 10, 2008, 06:02:43 PM
All I need in one is one that shows comics on the day I want it to, has easy access to the archives, and is easy to work with.  A calendar widget would be nice.

Of course, so would tech support.  The one I currently use hasn't had tech support available since long before I started using it.  I only use it 'cuz it was the only one I could get to work right on implementation.

Good art, enjoyable writing, and an...interesting sense of humor.  The HTML/CSS and web-related stuff looks good, so I, at least, haven't got any reason to say no...

So, yeah, a positive vote from me.

Well, I'm game.  Just don't expect me to suggest a theme...

English is good, that's a definite improvement over a few of the applications I've seen.

HTML, though...you said you've got someone to do the HTML for you, but could you give us an example of their work, perhaps?  Might just be me, but I 'unno.

As for posting it in both languages, I think there's an easy way to do that, using basic HTML, but it'd have to be made directly into each link...I think.  Someone around here is bound to know more about that than I, though.

Hmm...'till I can see any examples of artwork/HTML, I think that's all I have to say.

Good luck with your comic (and application)!

That's nifty...cool looking, and theoretically useful information, all in one!

Yup yup.  Leaning to do at least the basics yourself makes all the rest a lot easier.

A'right, I'll throw out my 2 cents, or whatever.

The art looks good, you can make HTML, and I don't the copyright isn't worrisome...

One complaint, though, and it's a small one:  using multiple, smaller files to make the little one actually slows down the load time for the main page.  It's not too big of a deal, and I think it'd usually be faster, but the connection I'm on is overburdened, so that probably plays a large part in that.

I have no idea what all your work means, but I think you've got a solid application, here.

Regardless, Databits never fails to mention that his profession exists, as though he fears everyone will forget if he doesn't.

Say, why are we always referencing Databits in the third person?

Databits, of course, is one of those professionals...

Well, you'll still have to learn at least basic HTML...or get someone to do the HTML for you (not recommended)...

Of course, now that I've posted this, you'll probably never see it...

Hosting Q&A / Re: Xepher NewsBox content rules?
December 19, 2007, 08:55:23 AM
Hmm...I haven't had a chance to peruse the "gallery" of ads yet, so I can't say, but that does sound like something I, for one, wouldn't want associated with my work.  (Nothing against Yny-u, just that type of work, nudes and suchlike, in general)

And yeah, I know of at least a few smallish children who read Beastling/PE, so I should think there'd be rules for the ads, or at least a way to block certain ones.

Applications / Re: The Foxfire Chronicles (application)

Alright, guess I'll throw my couple cents out there...

I've read the comic already, kept up.  Good work there, lots of improvement.  It's occasionally difficult to tell what's going on, but beyond that...

The site works, which is good.  I've worked with ComicGenesis myself (albeit briefly, before they borked my login), so I know it's weird.  The tags were anything but intuitive, if I recall.

Hmm...so, that'd be a thumbs-up from me...

I dunno'.  I liked the look.  Easy/fast to render was a plus, too.

Technical Support / Re: Banner/Newsbox Question
November 28, 2007, 07:32:00 PM
A'right.  I thought I'd seen something, but couldn't find it.

I was afraid I'd mucked it up, as I'd accidentally uploaded one (the box) and not the other (the banner) at one point.

Technical Support / Banner/Newsbox Question
November 27, 2007, 07:55:58 PM
Not really sure this is the right place to put this, but here goes, anyway:

I uploaded the banner/box ads for the newsbox, and added them to my page (the index, for Beastling (Not PE, yet)), yet they don't seem to show up in the cycle.  Is there a delay before they'll show up, or did I muck something up, somewhere?

I'm not the only person who doesn't see them, so I dunno'.
