(I know I'm not really a member here anymore...but I'm still allowed to hang out here, right?)

You can also use whitelisting on a minecraft server, so only people on the list can join.

Just felt I should point that out.

And best of luck to you, as well.

Heh.  I'd forgotten Virmir started here.

Hosting Q&A / I've moved my site(s)...
November 26, 2010, 10:22:04 PM
As I said in the title, I've moved my stuff to a new host.  I'm now being hosted by Virmir, and so I figured I should probably let you have your space back so someone who needs it can use it.  Each of my major projects now has it's own site, elsewhere.

Let me make it clear that you've been nothing but great to me, Xepher.  I'm not moving on because I feel you've somehow wronged me, or anything.  Moving over to the Crimson Flag server just felt like a natural thing to do.  I'm thankful for the time you let me stay, in spite of my substandard initial art skills, and my highly erratic, nearly non-existent-at-times update schedule.  I'd still recommend your services to anybody who I thought would make use of them, and was looking for a place to call their own.

So, yeah.  Feel free to delete the Beastling site.  I've already gone through and copied everything off of there, so there shouldn't be anything there that I still need.

(If any of you are interested, or still follow my comics, the new addresses are:
pendingelse.cfcomic.com and
beastling.cfcomic.com, though it's still in hiatus.

and my random art and stuff now has a home at
canonfodder.virmir.com)

Thanks again, Xepher.  I'll probably still stop in here on the forums, from time to time. Probably just as often as I have been.

General Chat / Re: Does all work suck?
June 01, 2010, 01:28:58 PM
For a while I was planning to try to get a job programming, but I found that the more I did that, the less I liked the idea.

So now I'm just trying to find a job at all, and programming while I'm not doing that.  I don't know if all jobs suck, but not having one and needing one does.

Applications / Re: The Den webcomic

Hmm...I'm not really one to talk, here, but if you haven't even ironed out the name, is it really time to start looking for a place to put it?

Just a thought.  Take it as you will.

General Chat / Re: What are YOU doing with your life?
December 10, 2009, 12:34:26 PM
I'm trying to learn Java and C++ to a level where I actually stand a chance in any sort of industry where such skills are useful.

...maybe I'll hang out here more often, again.

I had that problem, but it stopped last time I updated Firefox...

That is all.

General Chat / Re: Happy? Tell us why!
March 24, 2009, 03:35:02 AM
I'm happy because I've spent the past 3 hours just sitting in front of a computer, reading up on random religions for the fun of it, and being paid to do it.

Well, glad I could help, then.

Hmm...

I'm guessing that's a php random script.

Let's see...there was a thread on that somewhere in here...

Here we go:  http://xepher.net/forum/index.php?topic=401.0

Is that what you were after?

Anyway, the black space is probably fine--though it does increase load times, I doubt it does much.  I could be wrong on that, though.

Okay...

It looks cool.  But looking cool and being functional are entirely different.  The 2 links lower down (3, I suppose...forgot to count the boat) don't show up at first, since I have to scroll down to see them.  Most of the time, you want all the links to show up immediately.  Heck, it took me a bit to realize I even could scroll down...I probably wouldn't have caught on if not for the fact that you mentioned the boat, here on the forum.

The boat link is...an easter egg?  Is that what it is?  Or is it eventually actually going to serve some purpose?  (The image it calls up is pretty cool, though...it just seems sorta' pointless.)  Maybe a gallery, or something...I don't know.

The 2 "Under Construction" pages, the forum and the market, seem common enough.   I've never made a store of any sort, so I'll say nothing further, there.

The "Explanatorium" link is broken.  It gives me a "404, file not found" error.  Besides that, I'm pretty sure Explanatorium isn't a word.  If you knew that, then okay, it sounds cool.  If you didn't...well, now you do.

The "Storyteller's Hall" and the current chapter (top book in the stack in the archives) seem to be exactly the same.  Why not just make the Storyteller's Hall page forward to the newest chapter page?

Lastly...what's with all the empty space at the bottom, below the boat?  All that empty space takes time to load, ya' know.  Sure, I'm on high-speed internet, but not everybody has that, ya' know.

Okay, that's my complaining.  Despite it all, the site looks impressive.  Just...ya' know...a lot of it seems pointless, from my perspective.

I'll actually get around to reading the story, someday.  Really.  Maybe sometime when I don't have a million reading assignments I'm behind in, already.

Yes.

And yes, seeing how they fight would've been interesting.  Of course, the fact that such a thing exists at all is pretty interesting.

Art / Re: Music = Imaginary Fuel?
December 13, 2008, 07:09:49 PM
Hmm...I tend to work better when I've got music going, whether I'm drawing, trying to figure out C++, or writing a random piece of fiction.

So...yeah, I guess you could say music helps.  Though, I have no idea who or what Epik High is...

Art / Re: New Art Challenge Forum :)

Drew this one during a half-hour at the computer lab.  Another half hour was spent waiting for the slow internet in here to upload the thing.

I think he's a zombie, though I'm not really sure...
