Much as I'd love to join in, my schedule is erratic, at best.  I'd probably best sit this one out.

Humanoid-animal styled things used to be easier for me than full humans. :)

The Third Eye is, in fact, a third eye, which belongs to the creature on his head.

Hmm...you're right.   I had the seam/staps sketched in there, but I seem to have forgotten to trace them.  (though the straps were of the same variety as those holding the lower armor together)

Thanks for the input, Data!

Actually, it's a bit darker than his fur...maybe I should make it even darker...

I did sketch a light source when I drew it on paper, but it disappeared when I scanned it in, so it didn't really end up being helpful...good advice, though.  That's how I work lighting on paper.

Yeah, I figured it out pretty quick.  Not bad at all, especially as (like has already been said, I know), the original was very simplistic.  I don't know about it being too shiny, as the sun does make skin shiny.

Then again, I get about as much sun as a mole, so who am I to talk about it?

@ Griever:  Codpiece.  O.o

@ Fes:  Thanks!

@ Phantasus:  Highlights are always where I have the most trouble.  The light is supposed to be coming from the top-left.

As far as the text in the bottom left--is it hard to read?  I put it on a similar color so it wouldn't stand out too much, though if it's hard to read, it defeats the purpose of its existence.

Well, to be completely honest, I'm really nowhere near an expert in that department.  I can't see anything wrong, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

Wish I could help more...but I can't.

Yup.  Another one.  Dug this one up, half-finished, on my hard drive, and saw fit to finish it.

As always, critique is welcomed, encouraged, and all that.  (Read: What all did I do wrong this time?)

Hmm...it doesn't actually load in the forum for me.  Actually had to go look it up on DeviantArt's site...

Anyway, I'm with Xepher on the tail--it comes out at too sharp an angle, and the fire could stand to "match up" with everything else a bit.  You may consider leaving the shading itself fuzzy, but outlining it in Red/Orange or whatever.

Looking at it, I'd think the Halo would have a bit more of an effect on her hair...

Not bad, though.  Not bad at all.

Well, I'm verified now.  Sorry it took so long--ISP and computer troubles, as usual.

Same here.  Filled out the form, but didn't receive an email.

Ironically, "Rosebud" is the only one listed that I don't get...

Yeah, it could stand to be a bit more noticeable.  Probably not require it "at the top," as that'd make it feel too much like comicgenesis or Keenspot to me.  Requiring it would be good, though.

And graphics are always good.  I think you'd do well to come up with something that says "Xepher" (maybe the pawprint thing you have on the main page?)

Well, that be my 2.73 cents.

@ Xeph: Ah!  Got it!  The reason there's still so much light on them is that I was going to have another light source, and changed my mind.  Shoulda' thought of that.  My bad.  (It's also why so much light exists around the train)

@ Griever:  Hmm...yeah.   I even planned to, musta' forgot when I was adding the last layer of shading.  Again, my bad.  The shadows in the walls might should be a bit darker, though that would just mean changing the transparency of a few layers...not much trouble.  Maybe I should try that...

Oh, by the way:  there's a somewhat larger (1024x768) version at http://beastling.xepher.net/PE/PETrainWP1024x768.php where my lines didn't get quite so squished.  I need to be more careful in resizing...

@ Xeph: Hmm...depth you say?  Any suggestions on how to give them depth?

@ Fes:  The characters took all my time, so the background suffer.  Of course, in trying to find a way to save time, I've wasted it all...
