Ardra / Re: [5/8/2009] The College Years

Aldla most likely was playing for the role-playing aspect (and dress-up), while Ardra tagged along and got into it for the math... Looking at Aldla this way, you can see how Hollywood perhaps got an extra bump from this.

I'm going to attempt to do ONE sketch a week starting in June. Mondays.

I'll be looking for a few requests, as well as working on some old "IOU" arts.

You may go here for more information: http://fesworks.com/wordpress/weekly-sketch-project

Ardra / Re: [4/17/2009] Why Ardra Hates Cell Phones

I should reaffirm that when *I* personally comment or reply on strips and strip comments, that I never knowingly give away anything that may be revealed later.

Though I work with Jason on the scripts, I don't actually know ALL about each character's thought processes as intimately as Jason does. So when I do post something, like I did here, it's my personal interpretation. Though sometimes, behind the scenes, my summations can be fairly accurate ;)

However, if I did actually know that what I posted was for sure true, I would not post anything, and either let the comic, or Jason, say it instead.

... but that does not mean that everytime that I post or don't post something that I know something or not :P

Time has passed, and I'm sure the girls are maturing faster, including the "rebellious stage" that all kids go through, unless severely sheltered and controlled (then it comes out during adulthood more).

Other things to keep in mind: Sarcasm, Tempers, breaking points.

Plus we are merely seeing glimpses as Ardra recalls. I can recal times in which my parents have very much over-reacted to stuff, just because of a bad day. I also remember one day I finally told my dad off for something, and it was completely out of character and a shock to both my parents that I even thought and said what I did.

Again, breaking points happen, and then can seen to come out of nowhere and out of context to the situation.

So basically, it's like if I had decided to do the Origins arc the way I'm doing it now, but decided to do it consecutively, rather than three or four different arcs over time.

If I had elected to do it that way, it could have been almost as long.  Character development is important, but it can be a bitch to shorten parts you'd rather leave in, as I'm finding out.

No, since Ardra has always been "Story. Story Story." I think it would still feel very long, unless some creative segue was involved... It would probably feel like too much exposition.... It's hard to say, really... I mean, it can be done, but I'd have to spend a lot more time on it, and as you know, I'm barely having time now :/

With seperated stories, things can feel fresh each time as well. I think P.S.I. would benefit from such a story-telling some time.

Okay, but I've gotta ask...

Is the storyline you started for Halloween '08 gonna be done by Halloween '09?  I thought some of my arcs ran kinda long, but damn!  :)

Well, during the "Halloween Caper 2008 Arc", it's actually several arcs... it all blends together. There are 4 arcs actually. While all 4 take place during the mall, and technically apart of the 2008 Halloween Cameo Caper, it's not one arc. Each arc is designed to run a particular idea.

Home Again. Home Again? was a segue arc to release some exposition about Nemi and her past, as well as getting everyone out of the graveyard to the Mall.

Find What You Need Here is the beginning of the Cameo Caper. Resolves the missing item that was taken from The Crossover Wars. Closes a plot point.

No Rest for the Soul is really the set-up for the Zombies and several other plot points, ending with Nemi's crystal getting jacked.

No Rest for the Dead, Either is a play on the previous arc name, which I do frequently, but also caries the bulk of the zombie stuff. It also brings up the Nemi and Bodil thing, where you are not 100% sure of what happened and who's who, etc. Ends with a bang.

The current arc Altogether Apart, it's basically taking off from the last part, and is on it's way to wrap things up... meaning that when things are wrapped up (as far as the Cameo Caper is concerned), then a new arc will begin... but to give you a hint, they will STILL be in the mall when that happens, but will also move along in a different direction, as well as close some other plot points as well as set up new ones.

So, unlike Ardra, P.S.I.'s story runs consecutively. Rather than "Story. Story. Story. Story." P.S.I. is more like "Story: Story, Story, Story." Though I'll still have some non-consecutive points.... but I think you get what I mean.

Also, when I started PSI's inclusion into the 2008 Halloween Cameo Caper, I was VERY careful NOT to make it an official "halloween" arc. I wrote the entire script (or planned in my head, rather), to simultaneously run the PSI story, as well as the story for the caper.

Though I admit, I should work to shorten the bits, but during this 2nd major crossover event (unlike The Crossover Wars), I am actually releasing a whole lot more PSI Story intended plot points, peppered all throughout!

Also, as an extra hint, I'll be gearing up to introduce a new character before the end of the current arc!

I'm going to update one more time this week, then I need to put PSI on Hiatus until May 18th or June 1st.... I just need some time to catch up with stuff....

So a month to a month and a half at the most.

Thats something to look forward to. I'm supprised that there's never been a Jenny Everywhere flash animation done before, I'm sure there's a few in the community adept at flash, a short toon is something I'd like to see, unusual that the idea hasn't been batted about.

Well... I have a PLANNED animation I wanted to do, set to music.... but then I did an unrelated animation thing for my comic... and I just realized how insane I would be to do a 2 minute music video... Wish I knew how to work Flash though... Otherwise I would, since I would not need to draw a thousand-some frames O_o

I'll see if I can't write up a birthday themed comic script for then as well. Still lacking an artist to work with though. Might be worth going round the online comic sites again maybe...

Also, the short film script is done. It's not perfect. I'd have liked to write something longer, but our student TV station has some strict broadcast length guidelines. I'll hopefully be able to get it filmed by the end of semester, but I'll be juggling that with trying to finish my final course project, finding a flat and getting a job before I finish uni, so...yeah, we'll see how things work out.

We'll all be looking forward to that! As it stands, you and your group are poised to make the first live action use of Jenny!

... Asside from stills of one failed start of a Photo comic from Simmons, and a photo comic appearance in.... oh I can't say because it hasn't happened yet ;) :P >:)
