Hosting Q&A / I've moved my site(s)...
November 26, 2010, 10:22:04 PM
As I said in the title, I've moved my stuff to a new host.  I'm now being hosted by Virmir, and so I figured I should probably let you have your space back so someone who needs it can use it.  Each of my major projects now has it's own site, elsewhere.

Let me make it clear that you've been nothing but great to me, Xepher.  I'm not moving on because I feel you've somehow wronged me, or anything.  Moving over to the Crimson Flag server just felt like a natural thing to do.  I'm thankful for the time you let me stay, in spite of my substandard initial art skills, and my highly erratic, nearly non-existent-at-times update schedule.  I'd still recommend your services to anybody who I thought would make use of them, and was looking for a place to call their own.

So, yeah.  Feel free to delete the Beastling site.  I've already gone through and copied everything off of there, so there shouldn't be anything there that I still need.

(If any of you are interested, or still follow my comics, the new addresses are:
pendingelse.cfcomic.com and
beastling.cfcomic.com, though it's still in hiatus.

and my random art and stuff now has a home at
canonfodder.virmir.com)

Thanks again, Xepher.  I'll probably still stop in here on the forums, from time to time. Probably just as often as I have been.

Technical Support / Banner/Newsbox Question
November 27, 2007, 07:55:58 PM
Not really sure this is the right place to put this, but here goes, anyway:

I uploaded the banner/box ads for the newsbox, and added them to my page (the index, for Beastling (Not PE, yet)), yet they don't seem to show up in the cycle.  Is there a delay before they'll show up, or did I muck something up, somewhere?

I'm not the only person who doesn't see them, so I dunno'.

General Chat / Car Wreck
October 04, 2007, 02:42:07 AM
Yeah...I hate to have my first post here in a while be a negative one, but...

I was in a car wreck yesterday.  (That is, Oct. 2, 2007)

Apparently, it compressed the bottom edge of my spine, so it really hurts to do anything but just lay around.  The doctors say that I'll recover...in a couple weeks.

This is going to inhibit my ability to get online, or to draw, for obvious reasons.

(For the record, everyone involved survived, and apparently I'm in the worst overall shape.  That's weird, to me.)

I have been around here, lurking.  Just didn't have anything to say, 'till now.

(Yes, I copy-pasted most of that from my own forum)

Catch ya'll in a week!

Art / Another one?
June 23, 2007, 02:32:10 AM
Yup.  Another one.  Dug this one up, half-finished, on my hard drive, and saw fit to finish it.

As always, critique is welcomed, encouraged, and all that.  (Read: What all did I do wrong this time?)

Art / Back for more!
May 11, 2007, 05:07:29 AM

Trying again, this time seeing what I can do with less organic subject matter.

Is it just me, or did that last sentence sound a lot worse than it is?

Yup, I'm opinion/critique seeking again.  I did a lot of things different with this one (I actually drew it with the computer, for one) so I want to know what all I did wrong.  Or, ya' know, right.

If ya' want to see it as it show up on the site, it's at http://beastling.xepher.net/PE/extras.php

It's the only thing in the Extras Page right now, so I doubt it'd be hard to find...

General Chat / Temporary Vanishment
February 27, 2007, 04:32:20 AM
Well, I'm gonna' be gone the next couple of days.  I'm participating in a Robotics competition, but (strangely enough) I won't have access to the internet.

So, I'll probably be back on Monday...I doubt this will affect any of you, just thought I'd let ya'll know.

Hosting Q&A / New site's layout VS. Internet Explorer
January 28, 2007, 12:39:25 AM
Okay, I'm starting another project (more of a side project, really) on my site.  It's another comic, but that's not the problem.

The problem, of course, is that I'm really not any good at making websites.  I can do all right, like I did with Beastling, but I'm apparently doing something wrong with this one.

This site looks fine on Firefox or the like, but IE puts the text that should go at the bottom at the side.  I've found workarounds for the other minute differences, but it still insists on putting that at the right.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure it's something in the code I wrote (entirely in notepad), and I can't figure it out. All help will be appreciated.

(And I'll get the newsbox here, too, if necessary.)

General Chat / Are you doing anything for Halloween?
October 31, 2006, 02:25:14 AM
Hello again, everyone.

What are ya'll doing for Halloween?

All I'm really doing for it is changing my site, and then I'm going to go stock up on candy after Halloween and lounge around eating it.

So, what are all your plans? (And if ya'll are doing anything with your sites, please link it!)

Uh...'nuf from me.

Art / Sketch Input, part II
September 07, 2006, 03:16:02 AM
Okay...as I said in the other "Sketch Input" thread, I made a colored sketch of the character in there, now named "Kheros".

Also...I'm putting this one in its own thread not because the other one had too many posts, or anything, but because I wanted to keep the two sets of comments seperate.

Anyway, here it is, in mini form:

(that image, in its original position, is here for anyone interested.)

Also, you can see the full size image (beware...sort of a big file) right here.

Art / Sketch Input

Hey all, Dragyn here.

I made a sketch recently, and I'd like some input.  I already placed it in the "extras" part of my site, but there's no way of getting feedback there, so I'm putting it here, too, though I'm shrinking it more here than I am there.

The larger version is at http://beastlingcomic.atspace.com/extra1.html if you want to look at it bigger.

Here's the shrunken version:

All input will be appreciated.

Oh, by the way--neither of these images is completely full size.  If you really want to see the massive, full-sized image, I could upload it.  Just ask.

Applications / Beastling
November 07, 2005, 01:00:54 AM
desired
username:  beastling

Email:        timreed9(AT)gmail.com

I am applying for a site to host my webcomic that I've been working on.  It WAS hosted at gutterflycomix.com, but they were hacked, and it was lost, so I figured maybe I'd try here instead.

The comic, Beastling, would follow a dragon-wolf by the name of Beastling (unsurprisingly).  He winds up getting stuck in the middle of Nowhere, a place literally suspended between multiple dimensions and realities, but not part of any of them.  He, naturally, starts trying to find a way to get back home.  That's the basics of it, anyway.  Maybe a bit cliche somewhere, but I have no intentions of copying anyone.

Lesse' now, an example of my work...

       Let's try this:

             http://beastlingcomic.atspace.com/archive1.html

Technically, that was the first comic actually drawn (Now shown in its final-ish positioning).

       Hope you like it!
