It's times like these when I wish I had paid attention while my mom went through her "knitting phase".

no, not those, although I have had those before and they are pretty good...but this one time I was in this "organic" cooking class ("organic" as in everything that no one wants to eat >< no meat in this class either, it was horrible!!) and they had these cute little purple flowers, that if you took them off their stem the flower part was hollow, and if you sucked in air through them you got this really sweet taste in your mouth.

Actually eating the flower, however, was not as sweet, as some of my classmates found out. there were also more people regurgitating in that class than at the local amusement park.

I'm talking about actual flowers here, not the little buds on broccoli. (which, in my opinion, don't have all that much flavor anyway) Normal flowers taste really bad. There's really no word I can think of to describe it really....sort of like mixing unripe vegetables with dayquil? Something like that.

Last time I ate flowers they didn't taste so good.

Though there are these flowers that if you suck on them are really sweet....well not so much suck on them as suck air in through them....

Sounds like what I'm gonna be doing too :/ can't drive so I can't go down to "First Night Santa Cruz" and watch all the drunken street performing splendor. I'll just be sitting at my comp while my parents are sawing logs, drinking sparkling cider and pretending it's wine or something.

Actually the compass was done digitally to begin with. I wanted it to look like a hand drawn old-timey compass you see on treasure maps and stuff. I guess I succeeded then, eh?

Okay so I'm trying to work on a new layout for the new year, and in a radical turn of events in my head I decided it's about time I have an actual logo to go with it. Not because I want to look proffesional, not because I'm trying to sell anything, (I'm about 10 years away from even considering anything I do sellable ), just because I want one. You know, something that I could stick on every layout (albeit maybe in different colors or something) that the few people who grace my site would eventually come to recognize as "THAT'S the Mystik Skies logo!" or the like.

Anyway, I want to incorporate the compass that I spent so much effin' time crosshatching on my old layout in some way. To the untrained eye it has absolutely nothing to do with the name "Mystik Skies", but there is no way I'm going to have a cloud or something like that in my logo. Period. Plus I like that compass.

I made up a quick little something for the new layout with some easy text stuff in photoshop elements (yes yes, glaring evil bright orange and yellow, I know), just to get an idea of what it might end up like:
(I couldn't think up a color for the font, so it's just black. Looks halloweenish, but I call that a plus XD)

along with a picture of the compass itself in multiple colors:


As you can see I can make the compass ANY color at all, so feel free to just name a color if you think it would work. Also, if you could reccomend a font to use and how to use it that would be nice. I'm open to any suggestion.

Ah, the holiday season. The one time of year I become torn between the hatred of a holiday for being so commercialized, and the overwhelming joy it somehow brings anyway.

Oh, by the way, I found that the way flash works, all the songs Pandora plays are "cached" in a temp folder. In linux, it's /tmp/plugtmp/access-* for the various songs. The files cached are pure, 128kbps mp3 files. Do with them as you may. :-)

Went to psych class and wanted to write something involving mental stuff. That was what I came up with. Not my best, but it got my friend into this reeeeeeeeally long winded rant while I was away, which is saying something cuz he rants all the time, but you REALLY gotta do something for him to rant for 15 paragraphs straight about the same thing

hmmmmmm I'll have to rack my brain for more of these little gems.....I know I had some REALLY good ones but I can't remember them at all. Usually I just use quotes from cartoons or webcomics.
